In Memoriam

Amber, my boyfriend, CatsLoveMe's cat, was euthanized by the Boulder Humane Society on 6/20/10, due to the claim of behavior issues. after only 4 days of her being there!! He loved Amber, and always will, even now that she is gone!! She was a sweet, loving, beautiful, 10 1/2 yr old short hair tuxedo cat. His late gf Marilyn, who died in '04, brought Amber up from Tucson, Az, in '00 because she loved her as a kitten at the time, and brought her into the family of the other 3 cats, Magic, Star, ands Jazz. Amber was a sweet kitty to Marilyn, and Cats, as well as to his last gf, Jane.

She was a beautiful, healthy, and loving cat, and now she's gone!! Cats called Boulder Humane today, and got the heart-wrenching news. He is having a really rough time dealing with this, because Amber was like a daughter to him, and I am trying my best to help him cope with his loss.

He had to relinquish her to Boulder because my Apartments will not allow any more pets here! His family would not take her in, and he wanted to be here with me, so he gave her up, and I am trying hard to help him cope with the loss!!

They originally said in about 11 days she would've been adopted, but I guess they lied!! She was only there 4 days!! Cats is so broken hearted, and crying over her!! I just wish he would 'lean' on me!!

Remember Amber, She was a good Cat!! Please Pray for CatsLoveMe!! He is having a really rough time now, and y'all know how much I love him!!

My thoughts and prayers are being sent

I had to have one of my cats put down because she was sick.. It's like losing part of yourself.. soooo sorry about Amber.. you're all in my thoughts and prayers..

It is extremely difficult to lose a furbaby, I had to put one of my cats down a few years back, I still cry for Stormy everyday, all of our pets that has gone before us is waiting at Rainbow Bridge, more prayers are sending

Cats, know that she will be waiting for you when it is your time....

I am so sorry for the loss, I know the pain of losing a beloved pet, I've lost a few in my lifetime, and it never seems to get easier. My prayers and thoughts are with you. No longer by your side- Forever in your heart

Let me be clear, Catsloveme loved Amber, I mean really loved. And she was a sweet and affectionate little kitty, and very healthy. After 4 days at Boulder Humane, there was no reason for them to kill her. They even have a behavioral department there, if that is the case, what does that department do? It seems to me, they never even gave Amber a chance after only 4 days. Cats is so heartbroken over this, and I hope he feels better after a while, I know this is tearing him up inside, but sometimes in life, bad things happen to good people and good animals. I wish the best and all my love to Catsloveme, and to Amber. June 20th was a day he won't soon forget, Amber never should have died.

this is a poem I have above my beloved dog Simbas ashes!!! Kristi sent it to me after I had to put her down after a stroke, I had her 13 years and she was my best buddy ever!! I an soooooooo sorry for your loss, any pet U lose is a hard thing to handle, U two are in my prayers!!

I lost my cat today. Wasn't really "my" cat, but he was also mine. Had to be put to sleep after being attacked by something last night and seriously injured. When no one was around I talked to him and that always made me feel better, he used to show up when I was really down, like he knew it.

This house never felt so empty.

Amber the cat and this thread should be dedicated for all of us who lost our pets.

They become part of our lives and you can just feel the empty spot they leave. Perhaps sometimes they weren't behaving the best, but now I even miss that.

What a cutiepie, I just want to pick that cutie up and snuggle, I agree we should have a special thread about animals and the loss of our animals, we could make a thread that is a thought.

I am sorry for your loss. Sending good thoughts, prayers and hugs your way Losing pets is definitely really rough for anyone who has a heart, and understands that they are really a part of the family and not just property. No longer by your side, forever in your heart.

My prayers out for all those who have lost a beloved pet!! they are like our kids and if U are a pet lover they understand our loss!!

Kristi, I love this poem. My sister read that to my neice when their cat passed away. My niece told my sister that she wanted to go to the rainbow bridge RIGHT NOW!

Omg that is sad! I would be interested in knowing
what the shelter meant by "behavioral issues"
and if these issueshad ever cropped up before?
Was this a no-kill shelter? I'm suprised they didn't
contact Catsloveme before doing such a thing. Especially
since they told him Amber would be adopted!
I would want names!
