Just eat your soup with soup spoon and not a regular spoon, use a steak knife to cut your steak and don't use a steak knife to eat butter your toast, and if you get a hamburger the heck with the utensils  
Those soups are more like shovels. I use the teaspoon. Them soup spoons are like shovels so that you can sluuurp your soup and every one hear how much you are enjoying your 'fine dining'....

I really don't care.....i know how to use a spoon, fork, knife.....does it reall matter how someone holds them????!!  
Yes, actually, it does. One of those little niceties that make a difference. Sounds like being a little too picky if you ask me.
