I just posted this on another thread but it bugs me so much that I want some input here.

When you give someone your IM s/n and they begin messaging you, do you get those who expect you to spend every second responding to their words? Especially if it's the first time or two you chat?


Me? I'm like "Dude. You don't even know me. Don't be getting all clingy." And do NOT expect me to chat with you to the tune of YOU YOU YOU.

There is NO bigger turn off than some guy that starts chatting on messenger and when you don't answer within 10 sec says "you must be busy" ..

WTH.

Of course I'm busy. Why would anyone assume you are just sitting there staring at the computer screen waiting for them to hit you up? If you are ONLINE you have already been doing something right?

It's been my experience that those types are scammers. In fact, most of them I've had experiences with like that have been listed, after a few quick searches. That's why I only talk on here now, if they want to take the conv. to somewhere else, it's a red flag for me, especially when it's the first contact or so.

I knooooow....Same here! it's crazy...And they pop up saying alot of stuff and Whoa! Then if I don't answer it comes you must be busy or I don't want to talk to them afterall

Well, perhaps if you just type to them "Dude. If I don't respond fast to you, then don't go all mental. I am a busy person due to the fact I am holding 15 other IM Chats and yours makes 16. So chill".

Yep and I just tell them now, I do not chat....I do not.have the kind of time to latched to a pc. If they like they can email me, I will respond even to say no.

Yeah, I can't stand it either! If you can't wait a few minutes for someone to respond... you needn't be on IM!

Hahaha easy solution I very seldom give my IM addy out and well I keep it turned off here.........hell they get mad at me in e-mail cause I don't answer them fast enough..... I mean come on I do have other things I do around the house as well deal with it or move on...........I can not stand whinny people.........

I just don't GET why anyone would think you have nothing else going on in your life, or while you are online except THEM.

I mean honestly .. how NARCISSISTIC is that???????


Oh of course, unless they are scammers as Totage mentioned.
