Topic: She is gone. | |
---|---|
My first born daughter has just left the house....she is driving to Colorado. She finished her first yr of college, and is at a loss as to what she wants to do in life. She feels she will find what ever it is out there. She has been such an important part of my life for the last 19 yrs. I am sad because she is gone.....but I know this is how it goes in life.

Remember what it was like when you were 19 ... and no, you'll never stop worryin' about how she's doing, either (even tho' you dint' say anything about that part of it) ... it's all part of the package.

I was excited and scared, and I was only moving to the other side of town. Yes I remember, and my Last words to her were..."Fly...be Free"
I also reminder her that her younger sister has never lived in a world where her older sister was not there and to stay in touch with her!!! |

Just be proud poppa. I am proud that she feels that she can take this kind of a risk, sure enough in her own abilities to take care of herself. |

They will keep in touch. This is the digital age after all. LOL Just be prepared for outrageous cell bills. LOL My last little chick-a-dee just graduated from High School and is also going away to college. I planned ahead and decided to skip the empty nest thing and become a foster parent. ( Hey, I figure if I cant find a guy to spoil, I might as well spoil a kid. LOL ) All kidding aside, you will be ok. You taught her well. |

Hi Northern Michigan neighbor.....The "cats in the cradle" always comes to mind, when my Daughter went off to her university studies....It was not easy, and we kept in touch a lot, but as she gets out into the world....I get the words from the song....We'll get together then Dad, you know we'll have a good time then...
The wheel keeps on turning....And all is well. Jeez, I think I'm going to call her right now...... |

Colorado is a good state, I'm sure she will find what she is looking for here. Good people here, man, no worries. As you said, 'this is how it goes in life.' |

If she's headed out then you did a good job raising her. Plus, they usually come back to you.
