How many miles is too far away? It looks like you're only an hour away from one of the biggest cities in the US. Less than that, actually -- but I have no transportation. So it would have to be someone fairly nearby. Being a writer, you have to appreciate the freaks on a greyhound. Sure, but even that would require locating someone worth taking a Greyhound to.... Lex, as a writer we count on you to be miserable and misanthropic. Last thing we need is for you to be all happy and in love, writing Nicholas Sparks(esque) novels  
No worries there. I'm just as miserable and misanthropic when I'm in a relationship. Consistency is very important. And, although I do like Nicholas Sparks' writing, that's really not my genre.... |

I have met 3 men off of Mingle:
1. We dated for over a year. He was the first person I met online. 2.  I changed my phone number
3. Talked to him since I joined Mingle and we finally met a few months ago. Not sure what happened but we don't talk now. I have no problem meeting a person from here if after conversation the time comes. 
I know many of my friends who have met someone online and they couldn't have been happier. For example, one of my great friends moved from New York to Iowa to be with her now husband. Glad she did otherwise I wouldn't have met her. All in all---yup, I am serious.
