By not telling that I have a college degree or 15yrs of job experience.

It seems like they like people who are inexperienced and doesn't hold a college degree. I kid you not, I got more responses after "lying" about my school and jobs.

If they figure out that you lied, then they may figure that if you lie about that..."what else would you lie about"!

Best policy, is to shoot straight...then you don't have to make excuses for the lies.

I don't believe that they "Like It", it is probably because they rather pay lower wages.
A good resume will land you a good job if you know how to sell yourself.
So long you can get to the interview, you have a good chance to get any job as long as you're dynamic, energetic and present yourself well.
I tried for my current job for two years before I actually was given an Interview, I knew then that it was "Now or Never", I presented all my credentials, demonstrated that I would be a good asset to the company and got hired on the spot.
I have been with the same company for the last 6 years and intend to retire from there.

I had to do the same thing. Applying for things, and being told I was "over-qualified" so I dropped some info off the resume. Lo and behold, hired....

But why would anybody want for work in the company which you have to dumb yourself down for the sake of getting in ???

To make money. Some money is better then no money. And better then unemployment, even at minimum wage.

Yet...lets say said company in 3 years has the perfect job opening, with your name on it. You say I want to apply and they say 'you don't have the credentials'. If you say yes you do, they may not hire you because you lied to them and you will not get a good reference from them for the last 3 years. just saying...it is a tough call if you really need work.

On the other hand, nobody is required uppdating their initial credentials. So, in 3 years, anybody could accquire new credentials for that the perfect job opening!

I have the opposite probelm. I barely graduated HS and can't find a job that even pays half decent.

I did try to go to college once though.

Put yourself into employer's shoes, so to speak:
A highly qualified person would not be happy at some job that doesn't match the person's qualifications, and would quit at the 1st opportunity -- forcing the employer once again into unnecessary expense of the hiring process. Thus, they shy away from hiring the overqualified personnel!!!

P.S. And now that I'm aware of your tricky tactics of securing employment, don't even bother applying for a job at my company!!!

If you're certain you can do the job better than anyone else (and it's not an enormous company who will check) give yourself a degree in something completely unrelated to the job. i.e. Anthropology or English are good choices. Times are tough!
