I totally forgot to change this on my profile.... I QUIT smoking about, around, over, under, (don't exactly remember) 2 weeks ago! YAY!
It's helpful that I am in a relationship with someone that doesn't smoke and pestered me until I quit, but was supportive about it. So I changed my info on my profile to say NO smoking! |

I've quit so many things and smoking is the worst, my dread of irritability gets in the way. |

I am probably not the best person for tips... because I always go cold turkey and after 3 days I am okay. However, if I pick up one cigarette, I am back on the wagon! Just find people to support you, chew gum or candy or anything that will keep your mouth occupied... and best of luck! |

any tips for the weary? I've quit so many things and smoking is the worst, my dread of irritability gets in the way. Shasta1 As with any addiction. Being smoke free has to be more important to you than your next cigarette. In 45 years, I quit 2 times. Once for two years and this time, I have 8 months smoke free. The first time, I used the patch, gum and chaw. Even, at times smoked while wearing the patch and chewin' the gum. Finally got off 'em. This time, did it with just a bag of starlite mints. Still have the compulsion but, I enjoy feeling better and being able to breath. I even have more energy to pi$$ folks off here once in a while. Get irritable. Be a ragin' btch. Just don't smoke. I got faith you can do it. |
