By far my favorite comedy team- their movies(even their weaker movies are entertaining), their TV series, and the last few years I've been collecting their radio shows.
If you get a chance watch their Christmas Special they did for Colgate Comedy Hour- Lou breaks the 4th wall like nobody else. Here's some of my favorite moments: Who's On First(From Naughty Nineties '45- the first on screen appearance of this skit) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sShMA85pv8M Numbers Game(From Buck Privates) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xpTjMhdIA0&feature=related Money Swapping(From Abbott and Costello Meet The Invisible Man) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTPPex4fS4s&feature=related Give Me My Money(From One Night At The Tropics- their first film appearance) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAgPOPtxRVs&NR=1 13 X 7 is 28(From In The Navy, this bit was also done in Little Giant) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo4NCXOX0p8&feature=related What are your favorite movies of theirs, or favorite moments? |

There is absolutely no comedy team that is or was even close to Abott and Costello.
THE definition of classic comedy. |

I love the way that I can just think about their classic skits and rapport ... ... And just begin to laugh out loud! Such a treasure of a pairing, things like that are just special gifts, moments and chemistry that NEVER repeats! You've done some GREAT links, nice Cinema up in here ... Lou tries to tell a joke:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQavdaBfn9w&feature=related Chick Young(Bud): You know the old saying? Everything comes in threes. Now suppose a third girl should fall in love with you? Wilbur Grey(Lou): What's her name? Chick Young: We'll say her name is Mary. Wilbur Grey: Is she pretty? Chick Young: Beautiful! Wilbur Grey: Naturally, she'd have to be. Chick Young: Now you have Mary, you have Joan, and you have Sandra. So, to prove to you that I'm your pal, your bosom friend, I'll take one of the girls off your hands. Wilbur Grey: Chick, you're what I call a real pal... you take Mary. -Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein |
