many words are used in common and mainstream conversation without people realizing they are derogatory,,, its not the worst thing in the world and its MOST likely that like most people in this country before the Tea party movement,, he didnt even know that it referred to anything sexual(still not sure why its derogatory,,)...

That's what I call em too! laugh

If you don't know what that means....

(Cover your eyes MsHarmony.)laugh

To be teabagged means:

To let someone put their balls on your chin or forehead.laugh

I'm sorry MsHarmony.

But most people in their mid 20's have been chuckling to ourselves for the past year and a half...

I am single with no kids. I have 2/3 of my check conviscated, er, taxed, but you will never see me crying about it. My taxes actually went down this past year, not a lot, but I'm sure most teabaggers don't know that. Since they know all about taxes.

ur joking!...so weird,, I thought thats just a byproduct of 69?,,,anyhow,, this isnt a place for sexual education,,,sorry,,,lol

69?? MSHARMONY?? I'M SHOCKED YOU SAID THAT!?!?!

sorry sugar,,:( I am an adult with two children, its not so shocking that Im not TOTALLy sexually illiterate,,lol

It appears that in a new book about the first year of his presidency, "The Promise: President Obama Year One" by Jonathon Alter, President Obama referred to Tea Party protesters as "Tea Baggers," a term
derived from an act of oral sex.

According to Jake Tapper at ABC News. "President Obama is quoted in an interview saying that the unanimous vote of House Republicans vote against the stimulus bills 'set the tenor for the whole year ... That helped to create the tea-baggers and empowered that whole wing of the Republican Party to where it now controls the agenda for the Republicans.'"

Most Tea Party protesters regard "Tea Bagger" as the rough equivalent of calling an African American the "N word." It is therefore fascinating that President Obama should be indulging in that kind of labeling.

Barack Obama was touted by his supporters as a man who would unite America, bringing forth "hope and change." But President Obama seems to have accomplished quite the opposite. He is making things worse by not taking his opposition seriously, using pornographically charged words to refer to millions of Americans.

Tea baggers are the ones who named themselves. They are tea baggers by their own fault.

There by no means is a comparison to the n word at all.

And to even go there shows ignorance on the part of those who do go there.

You've got to be kidding me. You can't be serious about that.

You do realize that some teabaggers even refer to themselves as teabaggers, right?

I never heard of the term, "teabaggers", until I say them say it.

There is no comparison between the N word and teabaggers.noway

Actually, they've always called themselves Tea Partiers. The Tea Party movement is already 2+ years old, and I've never heard any of them call themselves "Tea Baggers".

The organizers for the Tea Party had a gimmick. They asked people to send a tea bag to the Oval Office. One of the exhortations was “Tea Bag the Fools in D.C.” A protester was seen with a sign saying, “Tea Bag the Liberal Dems Before They Tea Bag You." They started it.

Maddow talks about it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZFtGUNyHdo&feature=player_embedded

Part of it:

Alongside the often entertaining infighting among all of the warring tea party factions, another complication in the movement has been addressed in a very, very frank terms today by Jay Nordlinger at "The National Review Online." Should the tea party folks really be calling themselves teabaggers?

The article opens with the fundamental question for far right conservatives, quote, "To teabag or not to teabag." At issue, many of the very same signs, sound bites and calls to action we have highlighted on this show in covering the movement. For example -

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Teabag the fools in D.C.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

MADDOW: Mr. Nordlinger also mentioned this now-famous protest sign, "Tea bag the liberal dems before they tea bag you." He did not mention the "Teabag Obama" Twitter page and Facebook group.

thats kind of what I thought too,, I have heard it over and over in 'legitimate' media referring to their events and I read about the movement to send teabags(reference to a tea party, I guess)which would also lead to teabagger being an appropriate label,,

I just think some folks like to make Mountains out of mole hills,,,
