I think some of these posts are kind however, the reality is that discrimination is a fact of life.
And yes that does mean that some people will not hire a person based on the fact that they are overweight, be it for a position as a waitress or a receptionist. People prejudge, and may assume that you are lazy or whatever. And for that they will avoid hiring someone who is overweight. No matter what the persons quailifications are they will be judged based upon their looks. To think anything less is simply nieve. |

Well that's a load of crap! That would be called discrimination! an don't even get me started on the whole smoking thing. Wtf is America coming to? Well, the freedom to hire and fire as one pleases, for one! I don't see any problem with employers discriminating based on appearance. If one's employees look bad, this tends to turn off customers. It's just common sense to look for employees who are aesthetically pleasing as well as fit for the job. |

dont like the word fat, so I will say plenty of heavy people do great jobs everyday. Heavy famous working people, there are many in movies. Delta Burke is both beautiful heavy and slim, also, worked both ways. Kirstie Alley, and many more. Just remember heavy and beautiful inside and out can lose weight, but ugly never changes.
