Topic: Ariz. House votes to check candidates' citizenship | |
---|---|
PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona House has approved a bill that would require President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate if he hopes to be on the state's ballot for a re-election bid.
The House approved the measure on a 31-29 vote, sending it to the Senate. It would require U.S. presidential candidates who want to appear on the ballot in Arizona to submit documents proving they meet the constitutional requirements to be president. Supporters say the bill would help settle a controversy over whether Obama was born in the United States. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/04/21/ariz-house-votes-check-candidates-citizenship/ Make's sense to me. If I had someone calling me out like this I would just prove it to shut them up. Not doing so makes you look like thair right. Also what Obama presented as a certificate of live birth, which ANYONE can get wether your born here or not. |

I wonder if ANYONE can get this statement,,,,,
"I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen," Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said in a brief statement. "I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago." in any case,, whatever shuts up the misinformation is fine with me |

This has been done to death, he is a resident otherwise he couldn't be president...I'm sure after all of the **** that came up with this otherwise stupid story, they well looked into it. Drop it, stop spreading misinformation, and go vote in another damn president when the time comes.

The U.S. House on Monday unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state. A clause was included that reads: "Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961." State law bars the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest. However, Obama's birth certificate, along with birth notices from two Honolulu newspapers, were brought forward even before he took office. But that's done nothing to shake the belief by many Obama critics that the president was born abroad. |

Personally, I couldn't care less where he born. What possible difference could the accident of where one was born have on the abilty of being able to do a particular job?
We should be able to hire the best human to be president. From where ever. |

Also what Obama presented as a certificate of live birth, which ANYONE can get wether your born here or not. If he had been MADE to show the vault copy of his birth CERTIFICATE like McLame had to (not a 'certificate of live birth' - there's a difference) during the campaign, this would now be a non-issue. He would have shown himself as INELIGIBLE to be a candidate, thereby voiding his participation in the election. Since he's the ONLY one who can put this issue to rest simply by PRODUCING THE DOCUMENT (but he WON'T produce it), the logical conclusion is that HE knows it shows a NON-American birth. If you were caught up in a controversy like this and knew you could stop the attacks just by producing the document that proves your legitimacy and eligibility, wouldn't you produce it - if for no other reason than to shut them up? For this to drag on this long because of HIS refusal to produce anything OTHER THAN a 'certificate of live birth' ON THE INTERNET and not in real life is to confirm his status as a 'usurper' and a 'pretender'. Until he produces the ACTUAL DOCUMENT and puts this to rest, he's a fraud - and he knows it. |

Perhaps, being held to the same standard as everyone else doesnt matter,,,
from factcheck.org Recently FactCheck representatives got a chance to spend some time with the birth certificate, and we can attest to the fact that it is real and three-dimensional and resides at the Obama headquarters in Chicago. We can assure readers that the certificate does bear a raised seal, and that it's stamped on the back by Hawaii state registrar Alvin T. Onaka (who uses a signature stamp rather than signing individual birth certificates). We even brought home a few photographs. The Obama birth certificate, held by FactCheck writer Joe Miller Alvin T. Onaka's signature stamp The raised seal Blowup of text You can click on the photos to get full-size versions, which haven't been edited in any way, except that some have been rotated 90 degrees for viewing purposes. The certificate has all the elements the State Department requires for proving citizenship to obtain a U.S. passport: "your full name, the full name of your parent(s), date and place of birth, sex, date the birth record was filed, and the seal or other certification of the official custodian of such records." The names, date and place of birth, and filing date are all evident on the scanned version, and you can see the seal above. The document is a "certification of birth," also known as a short-form birth certificate. The long form is drawn up by the hospital and includes additional information such as birth weight and parents' hometowns. The short form is printed by the state and draws from a database with fewer details. The Hawaii Department of Health's birth record request form does not give the option to request a photocopy of your long-form birth certificate, but their short form has enough information to be acceptable to the State Department. We tried to ask the Hawaii DOH why they only offer the short form, among other questions, but they have not given a response. but I guess some expected THIS president to personally show up at their doorstep and prove what has been stated OVER AND OVER by officials and fact checkers... |

I don't have an original birth certificate, I have a copy of it. The state of Oregon has the original. They send me a copy. Hey does that mean it's not real. Does that mean I'm not a citizen. Does that mean I'm not me. I may be having an identity crisis. Now I live in Arizona will they take my copy as proof. Where does it end.

lol,,,good enough for a US PASSPORT,, but who cares,, its not what 'people' want to personally see to prove citizenship... what a suspicious and SUDDEN double standard,,,, Do you know for a fact that he HAS a US passport ... ? No. We have a RIGHT to be suspicious. He presented himself AS an American citizen. McLame had to show HIS actual birth CERTIFICATE, but 'The ONE' got a pass on having to show HIS. I go back to one simple question: If YOU knew that all you had to do to make this controversy go away was to provide the ACTUAL long form ('vault') copy of your birth CERTIFICATE (not 'certificate of live birth'), would you consistently FAIL to provide it to put the matter to rest? If not, you'd (1) be hiding something you didn't want made public knowledge, or (b) be dumber than a sack of hammers. This question will NOT just 'go away' because it's (to borrow a 'famous' phrase) 'an inconvenient truth'. Time to show proof. |

I know that the document is verification for purposes of a passport of LEGAL CITIZENSHIP. (I know because I DO have a passport and this is the document I used). Regardless of whether he HAS a US PASSPORT or not, the point is that he could take the certificate in as proof of his citizenship,, PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP , is the point. the document is acceptable proof,, accept to some individuals who insist the rules change,,,, |

Time to show proof. no,, because it would be similar(to me anyway) with negotiating with a blackmailer, there is not guarantee these birthers are ever going to be satisfied with ANYTHING thats produced, or that the conspiracy theories wont continue ,, give one thing and they will want something else...... the document is valid proof for the government,,, thats what matters,, end of story. There are much more significant responsibilities as President than seeking document after document to appease opposition and haters who wont accept legal government proof. |

It's NOT going to just 'go away', y' know, no matter how 'convenient' that might be for him and his psychophants ... If he's stupid enough (or, more accurately) arrogant enough to stand for re-election in 2012, he's not gonna be getting another pass on this point. He's already sold out and pissed off enough people who made the mistake of believing him the first time around ... Speaking of that - How's that 'hope' and 'change' workin' out for ya ... ? "Change we can believe in" ... right. |

conspiracy theorists will never go away,,, on this we agree.....
hope and change is working fine for me,,,, Im loving the healthcare reform passage Im loving the protection of wildlife Im loving the presence of a well spoken, respectful , family in the white house Im loving the accessibility through emails and internet of this President Im loving that my son can go away to college and not be burdened with healthcare costs yeah,,, for me,, its working (sorry that its not for you,, obviously) |
