I only look ahead.
Never behind, to see who is following.
They all are.
But.
If someone gets ahead of me, I can see them.
I like that :-)

I seriously doubt if you are going to get anyone to admit to being a lemming, even if they have a furry face and buck teeth staring back at them when they look in the mirror.

In fact most people follow some sort of "crowd" or another. It's human nature to want to join a group, to be part of something.

I was wondering that myself. In the past I admit, I followed the crowd. But it seems as I get older, I'm too tired to

Okay all you non lemmings out there. Think of your lifestyle, the way you dress, the way you wear your hair, the food you eat, the way you walk and talk.

Do you realize that more than likely if you were in another country people would be able to not only pick you out as a foreigner but as an American before you even opened your mouth to speak?

When you go to your favorite place to "hang out", look around, I am willing to bet that a majority of the people there are pretty much just like you in age, dress and mannerisms.

In reality we are all lemmings of a sort.

IMO yes. I do things that I want to do or that might be of interest to me. Someone can suggest something, but I decide

But why do you do the things you want to do?

And why don't you do the things you don't want to do?

Is it following social convention?

Or is it socialization?

Or just because you want to socialize.

why do I do anything I want to do?? laugh

I do it if it sparks an interest. more out of curiousity (new things) they old things is because I enjoy it.

it goes back to that old saying "if your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?"

There is a difference in jumping because everyone else is and jumping because you decide to. blindly following (without thinking) is different than thinking about it (whether you would do it or not)

brain waves are the differences in this

My brain is waving.
Wave at my brain. It's lonely.

But what "sparks the interest"?
Is it an unfulfilled need?

And why do you enjoy the "old things"?
Does it fill a need?

And from whence does that need come?

Lemmings follow the lemming in front of them because it fulfills a need.

it is different to just blindly follow someone and to follow your own heart and mind.

Doesn't matter why I do things except that I do them because I (me, myself and I) want to do them or don't do them. not because I don't have a mind or heart and blindly follow others.

Research is a big difference. I might do something to check it out or I research things to form a decision

Not much different than the media. There are some that believe everything one side says just because they say it. it is another to believe something after hearing both sides of the story and then forming an opinion
