I read over your profile. I am a graduate student and plan on going on to get my PhD. So take it from a single mother that is doing this, wait until you are firmly into your doctoral program before even thinking about starting a family.

Don't let them pressure you! Just keep reminding them that you are focused on your education (and future career) and when the right person comes along, then they will get grandbabies, until then tough luck!

Keep doing what you are doing! Best wishes to you!

thanks for the advice!! drinker

Yes I've been there too. Both of my younger sisters are married with children. Not me. At least they love me enough not to raz me about it. So I'm lucky in that regard.

YOUR your OWN MAN,,,and no-one CAN make you feel bad,,,for being YOU,,if THEY REALLY LIKE OR LOVE YOU!!!
THEY can hint, ask, suggest,or whatever,,,but its YOU who is OK with what YOU FEEL about it,,and THAT THAT!!
You have to love you and no-one can make you wonder about whats inside you to feel or think..
YOU can sure FK with them if ya want.....laugh

Hire a working girl to take back home to a family get together and make sure SHE IS "EVERYTHING"" they would FLIP-OUT-OVER,,in a BAD WAY,,,and then once there tell-um its your future BRIDE....

then later after their flipouts,,,YOU can tell them the truth and as their swipping their forehead and thanking GOD,,YOU CAN TELL UM,,,YOU never want them asking you again about kids and marriage.

drinker Ain't I the stinker,,,,,lol

I have 2 sons & my oldest (26) just hasn't found the woman of his dreams. My youngest (19) doesn't want to have kids. That may change later on. But, I respect both my sons & what they want out of life. I'm in no hurry for grandchildren. Just want my kids to be happy in life!!

That is one thing I would never pressure my kids with. Having kids is a big responsibility and one that some just are not cut out to do.

I would rather see my kids grow up and do the things they want to in life before they make that big decision.

Even though I do have a 7 year old granddaughter by my son and she is the most precious thing in my eyes. I have told my daughter many times to get out enjoy life and do some of the things you want too before getting married and having a family...whoa

Hummmmmmmmmmmm ya better think on that again    my son moved back home last year after he got laid off he seems to be my rubber band child at 27 I'm beginning to wonder if I will ever have my freedom.

My kids are grown now but wish I had traveled and done more while I was younger but...........hopefully since they are within the next couple of years I will be able to do so anyway....

Good luck and keep your feet firmly to the ground on getting your education and doing those things for until you find that special one have fun and do for yourself.....

I agree, having a house to put them in is a really good idea. It's a sore spot with me when people insist on having kids they can't provide for. So kudos to you for thinking ahead.drinker

Or my idea is using pet carriers until they are 18 and you can kick 'em out of the house. laugh
