Topic: IM's on or off? | |
---|---|
If this was a topic already discussed I apologize. I didn't see a "search" feature for topics and I'm new to the forums.
Wondering what people think about IM's. Do most have it turned off or on? Why did you choose to have it on or off? |

Never on, NEVER will be ...
... I take my time to know folks before engaging ... By then? ... I prefer phone ... |

I can't even find it!!! ... ... Slap five! |

Off unless there is someone I actually want to chat with. If you leave them on any random person can bug you.

I keep mine off, if I wanted random people IMing me, I'd reinstall my yahoo messenger.

I attempt to even ignore emails while I'm posting, there are just too many ...
... I wait until I'm 'in that space', then address the burgeoning inbox, usually as I'm logging off or on ... Otherwise, I'd never be able to get outta what I term 'The Backroom' of Mingle ... |

i think most girls keep them off because guys are more aggressive and it just sounds like they aggravate the crap out of the girls...but that's just an assumption. i like an aggressive girl to initiate the conversation.

this is a little bit , but i was wondering also what are the privileges of having someone on your friends list...other than seeing their beautiful faces every time you log in

Mostly they are just easier to find when you want to send them an email.

Only what you've noted ... Just a museum ... I get creeped out by the invitations of those I've scarcely interacted w/ on the forums and sans emails ... ... Some I accept anyway, as I've a good vibe on the person! I rarely send the invites, etc. ... |

I turned mine off from day one. I realized on another site that the IM feature just gave others the opportunity to drive me bat s**t!!! I'd rather talk through emails or on the phone at MY convenience not theirs!!!

Never on, NEVER will be ... ... I take my time to know folks before engaging ... By then? ... I prefer phone ... I prefer phone contacts also and taking my time to know someone is most important. |

isnt random bugging the reason that we are here? :) Yes I agree that there are pervs out there, then you block them, but the "randomness" is what is fascinating here for me.... I am not in search of anyone though so just a "hello" or "hey what are you"? Comes as a welcome surprise !!!

this is a little bit , but i was wondering also what are the privileges of having someone on your friends list...other than seeing their beautiful faces every time you log in In my case it helps so people I like- but who don't fit my mail filters- can still email me. And like Myka said, it makes it easier to email them, without having to search for their profile every time. |
