Hi all, last summer a trade publication bought an essay I had written a few years ago. Finally word came that they were planning to publish it in the March issue...a friend of mine who is a subscriber let me know when his copy arrived so I started watching me mail...after a week I emailed the editor, wondering if I my comp copies were over looked since I am not a subscriber...the editor apologized for the delay and promised to put a few copies directly in the mail...So today for the first time I got to see my name in glossy print!!! To make it even better they only changed one word in the whole full page essay!!! I have been writing for many years, it is so great to finally be able to say I am an author!

Time to get serious again on my manuscript!!

Thanks everyone!! It is kind of a thrill! The essay is about a time during my early grieving over my husband's death. The publication is American Funeral Director, how many visitors to my home will find that an odd magazine to have on the coffee table!!?? LOLOLOL

Thanks Lex! Yea it feels great! It looks so nice, all glossy and pretty. I feel like taking it out somewhere public and showing it to everyone! LOL Can't beat it as a motivator either!

Yeah, my first magazine article was in 1996, and I basically beat everyone I knew over the head with it for a couple of years.

The main thing is, once you've been published, don't stop writing!
