So, I'm in line at the gas station and the guy in front of me decides he's going to switch lanes cause it's shorter. I guess he didn't realize I had pulled up behind him cause he just about backs into me. I slammed on the horn and fortunately he stopped within inches.
So I'm a bit shook up by that when another guy gets out of his car and gets all up in my face about how I'm smoking a cigarette and how I'd better put it out in my car or the whole place is going to blow, I guess. I'm still in line, not near the gas pumps. There's no ashtray so I open the car door and put it out on the ground. He starts yelling at me from his car about how damn stupid I am, and how that's the worst thing you could do, what the hell's the matter with me. My nerves are already shot from just about getting hit and now this paranoid idiot is all up in my face. I'm normally a cool headed guy but I couldn't help cussing this guy out. I got my gas & drove off. Only thing that worries me about this incident is that I was driving a company car with the name and phone number on the outside. I hope this guy didn't call my boss to try & get me in trouble cause I'm not supposed to smoke in the car and cussing a guy out in public doesn't look too good for the company |

Only reason I think the guy might have called my boss is that I got a phone call from my work like twenty minutes later on my cell and they don't normally call on my days off. I didn't pick up

Really? No kidding? I wasn't anywhere near the pumps its the fumes that make it blow not the gas,,,the movie The Birds? Where the man throws his lit cig down and the raw gas hits it and blows,,,,NOPE,,,false-hood as IT would have just been put out by that running gas,,,but it stays in our minds as TRUTH IF YA NEVER WAS A stupid kid as I was,,,lol

besides - it is really hard to start a fire from a fuel pump. they have safty equipment to prevent it on the pump nozzle.

How about the truth? Lying to your boss isn't going to make either one of you feel good, he'll know and so will you. Be honest, tell him that you screwed up and it won't happen again. And mean it. |
