Scammers are on every site I've ever used. They're like roaches, except that the roaches don't e-mail me trying to get me to go look at their "naughty" pictures on some other site, and I probably wouldn't anyway even if they did. Who wants to see a roach in a push-up bra, posing seductively on a satin sheet? Well, there's probably somebody who wants to see that, but it's not me.

Anyway, when a scammer e-mails me and suggests I should talk to them elsewhere, I'll usually write back and say "Hey, the site we're on already has e-mail, we can just talk here." I never hear from them again after that; it's as if even a minor display of practical logic causes their scammy little heads to explode.

Or at least I'd like to think so.

After that, I'll report them to the relevant authorities, although various sites handle these things in various ways. One of the reasons I like Mingle2 so much is because our admins tend to nuke scammers very quickly, and there have been times when a scammer is gone BEFORE I even file the report -- !!

On some other sites, they tend not to do much about it, probably because their entire memberships are scammers. Or that's how it looks anyway. I don't use those sites much -- too much dreck to slog through, and nothing very useful....

the worst part is those pictures usaly arnt even them. they just take random pictures off the net. its so easy to tell thats what they did most of the time. just look for 2 things 1 if its too good to be true it is and 2 if it looks profesionally than you know its stolen. look for those 2 things and you should avoid 99% of the scamers.

speaking of idiots, i saw on the canadian news the other day police in durham region (a suburb of toronto) warning the public about nigerian scammers.

I actually got one after a whole year. What was funny about it. I was talking to a friend on here and told them that i've been lucky and haven't ran into one for a whole year. Well my luck ran out


I play with them for a little bit and then report them. This last one had a great profile and she/he was my age and lived in my area. Sounds great right? The problem was, when she/he sent the first email. The english didn't match what was put on the profile and as you said Lex. Trying to get me to chat on another email.



Damn! I was doing so good. I actually lasted a whole year with no scammers
