The United States is supporting anti-Iranian groups operating out of Pakistan's remote border regions, the speaker of Iran's parliament has said. Gholamali Haddadadel accused the US of trying to put pressure on the government in Tehran, but said Pakistan was not involved in the operations. "There is no doubt in our minds that the United States spares no effort to put pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said. The US television station ABC News reported on Tuesday that the US had been secretly advising and encouraging a Pakistani group that had carried out raids in Iran. "The best indication of United States' support to a particular terrorist group is that one of the leaders of this terrorist group was given the opportunity to speak on VoA [Voice of America radio station] after committing the crime," Haddadadel said. "There is no news, no evidence, and we don't have any reason to believe that the military establishment in Pakistan is also supporting such militant groups." ABC News, citing US and Pakistani intelligence sources, said the raids had resulted in the deaths and capture of Iranian soldiers and officials. The group, called Jundullah and made up of members of the Baluchi ethnic group, who live in Pakistan and Iran, operated from the Baluchistan province, the report said. The group said it carried out an attack in February that killed at least 11 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on a bus in the Iranian city of Zehedan. ABC reported Pakistani government sources as saying the secret campaign against Iran was on the agenda when Dick Cheney, the US vice president, met Pervez Musharraf, the Pakistani president, in February. |

The actual policy of the U.S. has always been to confront terrorism.
In fact, the U.S. is actively trying to eliminate it. Politicians and groups whose interests are aligned may receive aid but if they were to engage in killing innocent women and children then the support would be immediately withdrawn. The lack of support for Iran because of their policies and activities such as going after the perpetrators of attacks such as 911 (Bin Laden) are just part of elimination of terrorists and confronting state sponsors of terrorism. It is the correct strategy to take aggressive steps abroad to thwart those who plot to attack us here. It is the correct position morally and ethically to combat anyone who engages in bombing public buildings, buses, or who fires missiles indiscriminately into civilian areas. I am proud that the U. S. is a world leader in confronting and eliminating terrorism.

We bombed Serbia, at the behest of the Kosovo Liberation Army.. An Albanian/Muslim terrorist organization. Yes... Our support of Muslim terrorists is quite disturbing. |

I never understood the global mentality(not just America) that the enemy of our enemy is automatically our friend. What if that enemy of our enemy cant stand us either and what if our enemy has very VALID reason to be enemies with that friend,,,lol It gets us into alot of hypocritical situations which I would think lessens the trust of nations around the world. If we are asked for help, mediation should be the first effort along with a SERIOUS attempt to understand the FULL history and not just take sides for some shallow loyalty when our friend might just well be in the wrong. |

Attacking civilians with missiles and bombs, bombing buses and cafes, these are not acts that are tolerated even in warfare. They have been prohibited by universal consensus and codified. Terrorists are not to be tolerated in any civilized society. It is not something to fight in one or two countries. It is something which must be confronted everywhere it occurs. |
