Topic: Man Law! - part 64 | |

*sigh*
Ahh, what memories you have evoked.... Rummaging around in old ruins that once were castles.... Walking down streets that are no wider that an ox cart, the smell of the lemons on the breeze, the cats that are everywhere even inside the Churches and the Old Ones that sit outside and grin with their toothless smiles... The 'presentation' of a little piece of meat..Wrapped in layers of pastry and topped with "laural leaves' for good luck... I have always said that I will go back and one day I will too.... |

it was a great time for me too
never found anyone that can relate to it here in the states loved the little "fast food" stands on the corner you could go to and get italian food fixed fresh to take home garlic steaks pepper steaks damn the food i gained 30 pounds over there havent weighed that much before or since i went there |

Oh the fast food stands....
I don't remember what they called it but there was this big hunk of meat on a stick that they had roasted over the spit...Then when you wanted some they would shave it off onto a flat piece of round bread, roll it up and was it ever good.... I think that eating was one of the biggest highlights the whole time that I was there...I came home with so many recipes and love to cook them up for my friends and family...Of course I got hooked on Espresso and Biscotties over there and now make them here for myself and people that come over...As soon as I get the coffee going here they are sure to ask if I have any of them 'hard little cookies'.... Now ya got me thinking about Spatzlies and Roosties... |

That's it !!! Giros is what they were called...
I was just sitting here thinking about eating them and how the sauce and the meat juices would run down my arms.... That was always one big sammich.... I wonder if I could do something like that with a big Moose roast?... Hmmmm.... I have had to adapt some recipes to fit what I can get here and they all come real close to what I had over there...Now I will be on a new mission to see if I can get some Moose meat to work into a Giros...Good idea for a barby day... Wow, now I'm hungry.... |
