Fox News had its best January in the history of the network, and was the only cable news network to grow year-to-year.

FNC also had the top 13 programs on cable news in total viewers for the fifth month in a row, and the top 13 programs in the A25-54 demographic for the first time in more than five years.

• FNC grew in double digits in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic from January 2009. In prime time, it was up 22% in total viewers and 51% in the demo. CNN was down 34% and 37% and MSNBC down 26% and 38%. In total day, FNC was up 16% and 28%. CNN was down 34% and 41% and MSNBC down 28% and 39%. Last January all networks performed while with the Inauguration coverage. This month, the big political event was Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts, which FNC dominated in the ratings.

• Special Report with Bret Baier/Brit Hume was #1 for the 100th consecutive month.

• Fox Report #1 for 100th consecutive month.

• Sean Hannity had his best month ever (since it launched as Hannity).

When the next Cat 4 hurricane hits the U.S., I'll watch FoxNews. Until then, it's CNN.

Just goes to show the average American is clueless and only
requires some flash-n-glam to feel fulfilled, "news-wise".

Fox News is an oxymoron.

well, thank goodness all the networks are free to air news in what ever fashion they desire,,,,too bad we are more interested in being entertained than educated though,,,

we often tend to choose fluff over talent though,,look at how long Britney Spears outsold Christina Aguilera,,,,,just a sign of the times folks

I don't watch tv to be educated, I go to school for that lol

I watch tv to be entertained and maybe have a laugh.

Even as a child I watched cartoons for enjoyment, if mom wanted me to go play outside all she had to do was turn on educational cartoons and i'd disappear.

True, but we could say the same about any mainstream news outlet and most of the smaller ones.

problem is that people seem to have a hard time differentiating between FOX news and FOX commentary (OReilly and Beck and Hannity)

FOX news department is pretty good and generally reports the same stuff as CNN and the the others

the commentary is pretty one sided and propagandish though

you want to watch real news with common sense in it.....watch the daily show with john stewart...sure its parody news but it points out the stupidity of the fox news reporters as well as cnn and others....its hard to watch REAL unbiased news any more...its just people giving thier opinion instead of just reporting

This.

I just read the newspaper for news or watch local news for anything important. news commentary is the same as me going downtown and asking people for their opinion.

The Daily Show makes 100% more sense than Fox News.

Viewers' count doesn't mean that it's a real news, but who has a better propaganda.

In today's world with the economy hitting rock bottom, there are many dissatisfied and discouraged people, either not satisfied with the government or not satisfied the way things going, and Fox News relies on those people to tune in. Fox News likes to point the finger, and it's human nature to look for a scapegoat when the real problems are actually within us.

yanno what bugs me about FOX

they have to keep presenting this "fair and balanced" mantra so that for every news story they have to have a liberal and a conservative commentator express their opinion

and it always devolves into a shouting match over who can express their view the loudest and the longest. and that bugs the crap our of me so I change channnels

It's because people love "drama" and Fox News have plenty.

I would watch fox news if they did an hour long documentary on the Bush tax cuts and their relationship to the current defecit they are howling about. I saw some figures that indicated that had not bush enacted the tax cuts we would have a surplus and wiped out most of our national debt.

A study was done involving fox news viewers and 50% of them thought Saddam was behind 911. America is a country full of rubes.

I watch Fox sometimes to see what they have to say, but I can't deal with it for long. I still think it's funny that they claim to be fair and balanced, though.
