Topic: Why commit to someone online? | |
---|---|
I am truly puzzled. How can some commit to one on a website with not even meeting them, and better yet not meeting them for a few months down the road?
You may miss an opportunity walk right in front of you, and better yet the online person may either ditch or not be who you thought they were... I just dont get it...maybe its me |

Simple, I don't...done with this online bibble-babble. Good for friends, but that is about it for me.

Its not for me...
I need someone local, we can both put our arms around each other anytime we want. Spend time together, talk, be alone, touch, look at, go out with friends and family. |

Maybe they are looking more for a friendship then a commitment? Other wise I don't know either

The answer is- that when you finally find someone that you connect on so many levels with, you don't want to screw something like that up for a little piece of azz. I waited for 6-7 months to meet Angel and I'd still be kicking myself if I went out and played the field.
Don't get me wrong, there has to be a pre established timeframe in meeting the person. But without the physical part of the relationship bogging things down, you really, really, get to know the person on a different level. At least that's how it worked for us. |

I just dont get it...maybe its me I used to think the same thing.. Then got to know someone I thought was worthy of trying out what I was normally against... I was wrong but that doesn't mean it hasn't worked for a lot of other people and quite a few we know.. Not sure what I'd do now.. I don't think I'd try it again though.. |

I think that some people are more inclined than others to commit... especially when they feel they connect on so many levels. Some people know that "the one" has to have many qualities that are hard to find just randomly in the current dating scene. Granted that the two people are on the same page, with the seriousness of their commitment to wait and see about each other. Of course, they do not want to wait indefinitely to meet either... but if the connection is strong... it will become a reality if it is wanted by both parties. I think that an online relationship is just really an opening... that can become a beautiful, real thing, once everything gets in place. I would have to say that I am probably the happiest I have been in a very long time. The wait seemed long, but I would do it all over again for this person in my life now. |

It works for some folks. I have met a few folks here. On a friend basis only. Some I had hopes for something more substantial. But, its not happened yet. And I do cherish my friends on here.

Some people I will still try and meet for dinner or a lunch.. Still believing that one day,,it will FEEL just like Peccy here said they felt together....Now would I ever committo a lady I have NEVER met in person YET,,,,no,,,,as I do know that MANY can mis-lead and lie as to who or what they SAY they our.... |
