I get that too, sometimes -- I miss all of the good things about being in a relationship.

Then I remember what my past relationships were really like and I'm not so sure I want to go through any of that again!

if you dont quit looking back, you will not move on cos trust me i've being there and it does no good.

Sometimes it's best to wait for the right person. You don't want to rush into something because of your emotions/feelings and have it be a mistake. It's good to take time to be with you and figure out what you really want and then go for it.

I've had a tendency not to learn from the multiplicity of mistakes I've made in the past. Which makes me avoid situations where a recurrence of those mistakes even becomes remotely possible!

And that's OK. Because I'm probably better off being too careful, at this point.

I know I'm late on this discussion, but one thing I've learned is to never force the issue. Allow life to present itself and its pleasures. Sharon100, I hope you don't take offence to this, but I sense that you are innocent and very trusting of people. I'm not saying you have to be cold and paranoid, but just be aware that perhaps some people may sense an innocence and trusting nature about you. Some people will try to exploit that when they sense it. Just becareful not to fall for those types. It's ok to be innocent and trusting, but you also have to protect yourself and keep your guard up.
