This is actually a really good time to draw down the moon....to use moon magic. To have this second full moon, to be blue and to be on New Year's eve is rare. It's a great time for magic..if your into that sort of thing.

I happen to think that those little facts..full, blue, new years eve, end of the decade are pretty profound. Like I said..powerful time for drawing down to moon....and it's not so cold when ya a have a big fire going.

The Farmers' Almanac lists these Algonquin Indian names for the full moon of each month:
January: Wolf Moon February: Snow Moon March: Worm Moon April: Pink Moon May: Flower Moon June: Strawberry Moon July: Buck Moon August: Sturgeon Moon September: Corn Moon October: Harvest Moon November: Beaver Moon December: Cold Moon And a blue moon occuring on 12/31 of any given year is extremely rare. According to NASA the last time this happened was 12/31/90. |
