my last tat hurt like hell. i remembered my first being only slightly uncomfortable. of course my second was all lettering. it felt like someone cutting me with a razor; slowly. Ahhh, so lettering is more painful that a..design? Can you say where it was? i have one on each inner forearm. plenty of meat in both areas. the first one basically just felt like a sunburn. it was mildly irritating while it was happening. the lettering was brutal. not unbearable, but i wasn't ready for it. . . . |

Being that I have a tramp stamp, I'd rather the true meaning or lack thereof be presented... Lower back tattoos are a body decoration, sometimes intended to emphasize sexual attractiveness. Generally, a lower back tattoo will be designed to emphasize the shape and curvature of the figure. Such tattoos have become popular since the late 1990s. They are sometimes derided as suggestive of promiscuity or as associated with Raunch Culture,[1] and pejoratively referred to as "tramp stamps",[2][3] and other slang terms.[4] Lower back tattoos are believed to have originated with porn stars who wanted to make certain they could be recognized onscreen even when they weren't facing the camera. Several attributes of lower back tattoos have made them popular among women.[citation needed] While the lower back is not the widest area of the human back, it has abundant space for a large design, and horizontal tattoo designs can be worked easily. In contrast to the abdomen, which is otherwise a similar location, the lower back does not stretch significantly during pregnancy or other weight gains, thus providing a more stable site for a design. Lower back tattoos are often left uncovered by individuals wearing crop tops (also called 'bellyshirts' and 'halfshirts') that are designed to expose the midriff, and low-rise jeans that are worn low around the hips. A Barbie doll with a lower back tattoo was released in 2009.[5] |

I understand people wanting one, but if you don't know what you want then wait. Don't just pick something just to get one.

I dunno, the arms on that pic of you seem painfully thin. :-) So, you are saying the two tatts, in the same place, only different arms, were two wholly different feelings? So, more mind set than location? Oh and while I am asking, someone told me to be very careful what part of the body you put a tatt on because as you get older, the skin sags so a lettered tatt can become unreadable..that so? |
