how many of you have kids? Are there times when you wish you could call a taxi service for them to take them somewhere that you can't? I am trying to get an idea on how popular this would be, so I need your input..let me know.

I have a 17 year old, he drives.

I don't have any kids and I never will, but there are a few people I'd like to put in a taxi and push into the ocean. I guess that's really not the question, though.

I have no kids, but I do have an opinion on this. First you would need to make some calls to people in your community, and/or get some signatures of support from them about your idea. Next comes the hard part - liability and legality. This could get expensive. Most likely you would need some kind of operator's permit for your new limo service. And then you would have to be legally insured by a company for your limo service. The way so many people are so lawsuit-happy these days, you don't want to take any chances. And lastly, your service needs to be convenient, and inexpensive compared to just calling a regular cab. If you can do all of this, you may have a shot at building your enterprise.

I don't have kids of my own yet, but I would never feel comfortable calling a taxi servic for them, or letting them go places alone if they were not old enough to drive. I would feel more comfortable taking them myself, and allowing them to use the car while I was with them whenthey were old enough, and then just letting them go on their own once they were old enough to drive.

There are already about a gazillion taxi services available where i am.

But i wouldnt use them for my kids.

Not being involved with the child. Not participating, or supporting the child.

I have two kids, now 18 and 16. Yep, drove them to soccer practice, and piano lessons, softball, girl-scouts. Now sometimes you car-pool with other the kids if there is a schedule conflict. Or the kids can walk if it is close enough.

Piano lessons were the best because they had a nice chair in the living room and I could take a nap.
