I am trying to determine if I am feeling adventurous enough to try doing the Windows 7 install tonight. Maybe I should wait till tomorrow.

is windows 7 going to be safe on it? Vista screwed up everything when it was put on a even 6 month old computer...

I downloaded the Win7 compatibility advisor and there were a couple of my programs that weren't able to run with 7, but all of my hardware and stuff was fine. |

(you aren't clean installing it onto an empty hard drive) It would take about 2hrs I would say, but then you gonna get the updates and whatnot, but it's a much more faster and efficient upgrade, then let's say upgrading from Winxp to Vista, because Win7 is basically still Vista, but gutted out. |

ahhh and reloading everything? Yeah. I have had this thing for 4+ years and I have never done it. It's getting to be in desperate need of a good wipe out to get rid of miscellaneous junk that has managed to collect on the hard drive and in the system registry. |

yeah he wasn't too excited but I think he didn't fix it right the first 2 times... I can only assume that it was a facebook app that caused it... Not doing those anymore..

then what to you think it was? I only did 2 things.. I went to "lyred" for lyrics and loaded some apps and it went nuts shut me down...

Wiping out and starting over stinks I know. But, like I said, it's been four years since I bought this computer and I have never done it with this one. I am kinda surprised it had held up as long as it has. lol |

I hear ya, just bought 2 new ones. I got tech support last spring and they killed my computer and had to wipe it out and start over. The I dropped my going from airport to hotel and broke it. Got it going again but was afraid it was going to crash soon so I bought a new one.
