Topic: are the flat screens better for your eyes? | |
---|---|
I have a very nice, very large, old style screen, but I think my eyes
are getting hurt by the glare. It didnt happen overnight, I have had this screen for along time, but my eyes are starting to bother me. It finally dawned on me that everyone at our office with the old type monitors have a "glare" protector or a new type of screen. They told me at the computor store that yes, my old monitor is bad for your eyes, but they wanted 60 bucks for a screen protector or 300 for a flat screen. I settled for a small flat screen from a thrift store for 20 bucks. I notice its not as bright as the old one. Before I give the old one to the dollar store, is this really a problem or Im I just getting older....LOL |

LCDs (particularly older ones when the technology wasn't as advanced)
are darker, so no it isn't your eyes deceiving you. But as they do not use cathode radiation, they're much easier and better on the eyes. Hope that helps, ~Sean |

When the 21 inch cathode monitor I had had trouble with the red gun it
really hurt my eyes. This 17 inch Dell flatscreen does seem better for my eyes. |
