I've heard a lot of men say that women my age are in a hurry to get married and have kids. Let me explain WHY fellas, cus I don't think you get it...lol.

We're not necessarily in a hurry, but we know what happens to our bodies in the next 10-15 years. We're only in our peak fertility until about 35, after which becomes more risky to have kids. Not that you cant' have them past that age, but women know what I mean by this. Men: ya'll's little swimmers are good to go for the rest of your life. We don't have the luxury of waiting that long because our fertility depletes tremendously and then eventually stops. Of course you're not in a 'hurry', you got all the time in the world. We don't. Get it? Try to be a little more understanding here please fellas.

I figure I have an exemption since I don't want kids....!

And I sure as hell don't want to get married again either....!

Most guys your age don't feel a biological need to have children... and they're more interested in holding on to their freedom, or perhaps having a relatoiship with a woman who's devoted to them, not devoted to some biological need they may have.

Plus they see many of their budddies either misserable, or divorced, because they believed the woman they married would remain devoted to them, not the children.

Child raising is usually completed within 20 (or so) years, and many marriages last twice that long, so you should really be more interested in who it is you plan to spend the rest of your life with, and the time to start thinking about this isn't when you're 35. IMHO

Well that's partly true. Men contribute to birth defect factors too if they are older. It's not just the woman.

I'm not in a hurry, but unless you're Trump or 'Hef', getting a 30 y/o when you're 50+ is slim. Heck, it's hard enough finding one in my mid 30's!

I never said a woman should settle just for the sake of having kids. It does seem however that if a man knows you want kids anytime in the next 5 years they run screaming. I'm happy to have a kid on my own...lol, but luckily I have a boyfriend who also wants them so in time we'll see. I'm just saying that men my age need to either stop running from the women their age b/c of that or date an 18 year old who is light years from ever wanting kids.

Yeah, the bodies start sagging and wrinkling up too!! LOL!

My kids are grown and I'm not having any more.

i have 2 strikes against me then:

1. no more kids(if she has from a previous marriage thats fine)
2. not ever getting married

OP, While, I have to agree in some sense in another I think the problem lies in the presentation. IF in the first 1/2 dozen dates someone basically told me they were wanting to have kids in the next 5 years. I would run... I know in my heart I would have ran in my 20's doesn't matter what age.

I am sure you don't mean it but this would be basically what I would be hearing. I am interviewing you on the compatiblity of having your baby and if you fail I will take your sperm and still have the baby. Because my bio clock is running rather fast now. Sorry just the way it is. Again I don't believe that is what you are saying and I think some men would hear this. I know I would. Also have you sat back and thought about maybe they just didn't want to have a child with you for what ever reason.


Also people my age are having children so the mid 30's thing sounds like someone is really focusing on having a baby and not the person you want to be with the rest of your life.

Sure you can have a baby by yourself if you go to the Sperm bank. If you choose to use a natural donor. Bottom line in this day in age, the fathers are finally getting rights whether they are married to the mother or not. Why shouldn't they, they are going to be paying child support.


Bottom line I hope you find what you are looking for and well I hope you have the child you are wanting.

I never said I was in a "hurry" either...lol. I'm technically infertile without fertility drugs, so I'm going to have to get some assistance in that avenue no matter how long I wait. Its actually scarier to those who can't have them naturally to wait. I do however need to know that the person I'm with is wanting the same things. If I meet someone and in the first few weeks find out they don't ever want to get married or have kids, I'm happy to move on no matter how much I like them. I refuse, and expect other people to refuse, to settle for anything less than what they want.

..and to think i always thought at that age they knew that gravity would take over and this may be the best theyre gonna look,so they better hurry before they get frumpy... ..and to think that it was all about that fertility thing..the one thing most of us have tried to evade all our lives..
..so if i find a woman in that age range who is interested in me i should run...because she is ovulating..or menstrating..which would eventually lead to my castrating..oh..hell no... jk
