How much does the Fed Gov pay in wages for border patrol agents?

How much is the avg Postal employees salary? A system that now steadily operates at a loss.

There are a million other ideas and uses for this national service. Ways that would be payed not just with fed taxes, but also with state taxes. At a savings from what they pay now.

The government's job is to keep and create an environment that is necessary and ideal for people to live in, that includes a place where jobs can be created.

BUT

It's not the government's job to create jobs. The government can have job positions for the government but the bullet supposed to stop right there.

Is this too hard to understand?

Americans want their government to create jobs through spending on public works, investments in alternative energy or skills training for the jobless.

But isnt infrastructure and public works a gov responsibility?

I'd love to go deeper into my ideas to use a National service force, but it's getting late, and I have to work tomorrow.

G-Night folks!

I'm still not seeing how putting a bunch of people into national service will save any money unless you refuse to pay them. Then it's just slavery. If you are creating public sector jobs and removing workers from the private sector, you are going to have a very large tax burden to fill the gap.

It's just not feasible. I like where your heart is with it but it's just not an option.

Infrastructure has always been government's responsibility. You can see how well the government has used our resources to maintain them to this point.

I can count on one hand the major tasks that I feel the federal government is responsible for, and infrastructure is part of it. Not on the building for each state level, but there is a lot to do that no state will do - i.e. the federal prison system, interstate road/rail/etc.

We should have been doing this all along and not just handing money out to people and "saving" government jobs at $200k a pop.

Wow.

The Government doesn't create wealth, the private sector does. Government jobs depend on the private sector. It's much more efficient for the Government to cut taxes to allow for growth in the private sector, than it is for the private sector to be taxed to create government jobs.

If Americans really want the government to create jobs, then Americans are stupid.

I recently realized that all leftists live in a fantasy world of their own creation. One in which they are morally superior and express their piety by taking money from those whom they believe don't deserve it and giving it to people who really don't deserve it.

This thread is a perfect example of that fantasy world in which leftists exist.

It's not the purpose of government to create jobs and it sure as hell isn't going to happen while paying down the debt. I'm not even getting into the taxing the rich part - it's just jealousy and greed from the bottom.

But wait, only rich, white republicans can be rich. if it's anyone else, they deserve it. sorry... I forgot.
