Topic: Here's my story | |
---|---|
Okay, so I find an old friend on FB about 2 months ago. We chat and he asks me out. We finally go out about 1 month ago and have a nice time. We text and email regularly. He doesn't ask me out again but since he's initiating the conversations I figure he's interested. So, I ask him out. He's busy and can't go out. So I let it go. But, he's still initiating text and email conversations but doesn't ask me out.
At this point I'm thinking, okay, we are just friends and this isn't going anywhere which is fine. Then the other night he asks me if I have webcam and makes a suggestive remark about us webcamming. At first I think he's joking but he's not. And, I'm thinking "you live 30 f***ing minutes from me and you want to WEBCAM???" WTF? Anyway, I said "NO" (because I don't do that anyway ) and that's the end of that conversation. So, here's what I'm thinking. He constantly texts or IM's me and wants to webcam but doesn't want to go out on another real date. He's got a girlfriend, right? |

Definitley a possibility...or he is more comfortable communicating through email/text some people can't hold a conversation in person or see themselves differently |

Possibly and he is looking for a quick thrill and was testing the water to see if you would. Anna x |

Sounds to me there is something "fishy" about him. Maybe he has a gf, or even a wife!! If I were you, I would tell him you want a face to face meeting. If he won't, he's not worth your time!! Cuz if he won't see you face to face, I feel he's hiding something, or someone!! JMO

yes

Or a wife. I say block him, that's so tacky. Good for you for not giving in to webcamming, it's such a waste of time.

yes I think so too. |
|
|
|
He may be a draconian imposter

There is definatly something unusual about the way this guy is acting. Right. I mean if you are only a half hour's drive from someone and you're not too busy to webcam, why don't we just go out IRL?? No matter. I wasn't overly interested. I just go out on dates once in a while to prove I still can. |

He may be a draconian imposter Now that I think about it, that's probably the case. |

Most likely has a girlfriend or is married. Could have a drug problem. Maybe he's just a total tool!

So many losers, so little time....be glad you found out now before you wasted too much time and effort.

Thank you all for agreeing with me and not suggesting that perhaps I am just much uglier in real life and that's why he prefers to webcam.
|

Well, I'm sure you aren't the first person he's wanted to webcam with. He figures its worth a 50/50 shot. But if he keeps bugging you, then block him.
|
|
|
|
Pffft, you're not ugly. But yeah, if he could actually spend time in person and he prefers to sit behind a cam, that's a serious red flag. I'm pretty sure wifey was in the kitchen making dinner when he made his indecent proposal.

But, I got $100 that says he's still seeing the girlfriend he supposedly broke up with 4 months ago. |
