WOW - fudge sounds good... Getting together with my girls on Sunday and making cookies and peanut butter balls... When my mother was living, she baked and made candy for a month before Christmas...Unfortunatly some of it was very stale when Christmas came but we all still enjoyed it and Mom was so happy and proud that she had done it all... When she became unable to do that anymore, her nurse would make them (under my Mom's supervision that is)... Her special was the peanut butter balls and my girls learned how to make them from the best and they carry the tradition on to this day. I guess I am a little nostalgic because my Mom died 12 years ago tomorrow and her birthday was December 17.. So, every Christmas brings many fond memories and sadness too..

Linny, here in Ohio we call the peanut butter balls "BUCKEYES" We started out calling them Buckeyes...then somehow they became Peanutbutter Balls????? |

ONe yr I was so proud because I had all my cookies made early and put away so the kids couldn't eat them. WEll come Xmas time and we were having company and I went to get some cookies and they were almost all gone...LOL the kids found them and were eating on them before I got home from work..lol

I used to make choc creams and taffy and lots more cookies but I just can't do it anymore.. I eat more than I give away..LOL

Oh yes you can and I used to make rum balls too.. you have to make them ahead of time and let them ferment!! woohooo thats a party in itself!! |

I also make peanut butter cookies.. We used to make so much and then every one started eating healthy (but me).. My mom used to go to a place where they make a certain brand(local) potatoe chips and have a case sent to my brother...lol

My mom always made a bazillion spritz cookies.....to me that is my fondest memory...and divinity....I never could master that candy...was Bernie's favorite, but I sucked at making it
