so my 4yr old daughter was off playing in her room she did not know i could hear what she was saying. i hear her say "i went to drug house got your drugs" then i hear her say "lets get drunk"

i am conseared and confused i know she did not hear this in my home but her father has been busted for growing pot and selling it i do not know what to do. anyone know what i could do

First, I would say stay calm. As a four year old I would bet she is repeating something she heard with no clear understanding of what it means.

Second, I would just explain to her that its not a nice song and give her some better choices to choose from. Children generally just want to have fun and have mommys approval, but if you go all wacko about it, it will just make it more appealing to her and gain her interest. Dont give it the time of day. Start singing some nursery rhymes with her and discuss with her father that she is repeating what she hears at this stage and to be cautious what he says and does around her.

See if that works, hopefully he isnt a complete jerk who doesnt care,, but just an immature male who doesnt realize his impact on her.

they hear it from other kids and grownups and TV

you can't shield em from stuff like that but as soon as you hear it you can explain it to em and why its bad and why they shouldnt say it

try not to make it a forbidden fruit though that they grow up wanting to try

where'd she hear this?? hmmm someone within ear shot, tv, radio...
those seem like the most obvious choices.

ok well she spends 9 days a month at her fathers home the rest of the time with me. in my home they dont have tv unless its a dvd or vhs i have picked for my kids and at her dads she can do what ever she wants then they dont have much for rules. maybe i am to protective of her ??

i dont know but the drinking and drugs dont come from me i dont belive in it i think its wrong well the drugs i do drink but only if my kids are at the babysitters for the night and they dont see it at all.
