If you go and open the cd manually, is there an .exe file that you can open?

If you go and open the cd manually, is there an .exe file that you can open? Put the cd in... click on the start button.... click on 'my computer' or 'computer'.... click on cd rom drive and open it. Look in there for an .exe file and click to open.... and that should install it. |

When you hit the eject tray button on the cdrom drive do you have a little light show up on it? Or does the tray even eject?

The drive is definitely going bad or is gone bad. And no I am not being sarcastic. I had 2 drives die in this same way.

Doesn't necessarily mean the drive itself is going bad.
It could be that Windows has managed to lose the drivers for the CD Rom. |

I'm hoping after all the updates go in, it'll work, but if not, I'll have to ask my brother to come look at it. It says the way they do updating, it will take a few days. I guess they can't do all at once, a bit each day!!
