Out of McCain and Obama, most people voted Obama, because McCain really came off as the same old same old. In this case, Obama was the better candidate, but in no way or nohow he was the "best" candidate.

Between Obama and Hillary, Hillary had more chance and she does have more experience `~~~~~ being in the White House, and knowing a few tricks, but nothing else at all, maybe just dealing with various people and selling propaganda really well.

But again, you're really listening to a real independent (me) ~ the entire presidential race last year was more like a bunch of clowns in a circus, pompously and arrogantly talking catch phrases and voicing everything you wanted to hear, but no real solutions whatsoever

and the ignorance of the breaking-down economy was completely mind blowing
~ with clear signs of the housing crisis and economic breakdown on the horizon already, and the wasteful support of the wars, and instead of offering real radical changes that needed, they end up arguing about health care and what Iran will or will not do, and whether or not Hillary dodged bullets in Bosnia and taking the guns away from the conservatives.

Absolute madness if you ask me..everybody was about something, except the big fat elephant (the economy) sitting in the middle of the room and already chocking millions to financial deaths.

And then all these bailouts and the after-BS-Talk offered absolutely no solution whatsoever...pretty much trying to put a bandage on a guy who just got hit by a semi-trailer truck and expect that he will stop bleeding from from loosing all his limbs.

LOL...and still people everywhere and the tv and all the channels continue to spread their garbage, while unemployment might reach such proportions by early next year, that the great depression of the 30s will seem like a walk in the park.

It was almost like a set-up and McCain knew he didn't stand a chance. Alfred E. Newman would have looked like a more qualified candidate. MSM played only the dunce, the liar and the she-male(Clinton). What, there must have been at least three, more capable folks running that MSM ignored. It was fixed in favor of the liar.

I heard Bill Clinton say that he thought McCain would have been a good President.

But he just couldn't run a campaign worth a crap

I think that McCain lost a lot of voters due to Palin. I know some that didn't vote for him because of that.

I agree. it was a pretty close campaign up until they started letting her speak for herself.

My father (71 yrs. old) and others were talking about how McCain could pass away and Palin could become president then. They wouldn't vote for him because of that.

lol...same here. I was gonna vote Obama but I thought McCain had potential until I saw his choice of VP, made me question how sound his mind really was and where we would be if his health took a turn.

McCain didn't run the campaign nor choose Palin...but I think since he approved of her showed he did not really want to win. In '00 he was a good candidate until the Dippic swiftboated him in SC but in '08 he was washed up and not up to the job...he knew that.

I think McCain didn't want to continue the miserable failures of the GOP...IMO.

PS: Clinton (that I can find or recall) only said McCain was a "good man"...show me where he said he'd be a good president (in the '08 campaign)

Jeez it was all over the news within minutes after he said it...
Liberal news downplayed it... Conservative news overplayed it. But he did say it.

If it was "all over the news" then I would have found it...only Hotair had a result but it was a blank page...go figure.

**yawn**

Blacks are far more likely to be murdered by another black then they are by someone of another race.

This is a fact.. You can post all the pics of the klan you want, but the simple math shows more blacks are killed by their own race than the klan has members.

I think claiming this has something to do with Obama is just more left wing propaganda.

huh? did someone post that crime had something to do with Obama?

"The jump in anti-black hate crimes is likely related to the November 2008 election of President Obama."

This is the first sentence of the second paragraph in the original post.

I don't see how that can be misinterpreted.

John McCain came out of nowhere, hew was scraping the bottom through the entire election cycle until the last moment. I remember that. That mormon guy from Mass.., and Huckabee and Rudy G was sweeping up the polls and then they suddenly dropped out of the race, while having a lot more chance than McCain.

Every sign tells me that there were manipulators and changes made, regardless of who was getting the votes. The GOP was entirely disorganized, and while most of them were on the same page about many things, none of them came off strong enough to counter the democrats. I liked Ron Paul, and that Dem guy from Alaska..although he was kinda crazy, but still better choice than what we ended up with on the last rounds.

Well, I dont think it is that unreasonable an assumption considering the jump in death threats to the president.....and the rise in membership of certain race based hate groups,,
