Could someone just give me a brief "meth lab explosion for dummies"
There was recently one in a house in Salt Lake City and I have heard
of this before. I thought someone could just explain it easier than
researching, since my interest level is minimal at best.
What the hell and why..

Ummmmmm.....they weren't doing it right?

In order to make meth, you mix a bunch of chemicals that are highly toxic and explosive. It is basically a huge chemistry experiment. And if there is an explosion... they using have to evacuate the area until the chemicals are out of the area and they have cleaned the area/house! Hazmat suits and everything!

When those chemical build up and aren't properly vented... kaboom!


People who make meth, age very quickly because of the exposure. Have you ever seen 'faces of meth' the documentary about those that use? It's worse than that in a shorter period of time.

I'm not sure of all the details but I know it's pretty damn stupid. They just busted someone, 3 adults that had small children in the home. Not too long ago there was a meth lab explosion.

What in the world is wrong with people these days?

From what I understand, houses that have had meth made in them have to be demolished because they are toxic.

I do know that it is bad chit...I have seen a few who use, they do have a look all their own. I'm just wondering what the mix is that makes it go boom..if they aren't doing it right. And what is doing it right? Do they just get "it" too hot, not the right amounts?

The idea is to get the amphetamine out of the OTC nasal decongestants so you mix the pills with acid to dissolve them, lye to neutralize and precipitate the mix and ether (starting fluid) to wash and finish the drug. Ether is highly explosive and flammable.

yes because of these drugheads it's more of a hassle just to get cold medicine. You have to show your driver's license and sign your John Hancock. You're also aloud to buy them only so many times within an allotted time.

Ammonia is VERY toxic in pure form..It's fumes can eat your nasal passageways and your eyes and lungs.
THATS one of the main things they use, my sons a cop and have busted many of them..He has SMELLED some from a house two doors down from where it was being made,lol,,,so the stink is very
STINKY,,,and it goes through a baking process so the fames happen then,,,and if their using it as the make it,,,,BOOM!!!!!
So,,,folks if ya gonna make drugs,,,,don't use them,,,,lol

I hate what some drugs have done to our world and kids hell,,young and old alike USE,,,so its very destructive to even WANT TO TRY!

I have two nephews who use, one,,,heroin, one crack and cocaine.
And their lives,,,,will never fully come-back,to normal.

one of my oldest and dearest friends bought a trailer from impound a few years ago. she got it dirt cheap, and she was quite pleased with it...that is, until they steam-cleaned the carpets.

her baby, who was still only crawling, and herself became so whacked we didn't know what was going on. she brought in an independent specialist and sent eh kids to stay with her mom while figuring it out...turns out the whole house lit up. the floors were soaked through with the chemicals...and nobody had ever told her that it was seized for being a meth lab.

not a pleasant time, i assure you.

Two things guys...........

First........combustion can be caused by something as inoccuous as temperature variations....

(a few years back some bone head deputy decided to show his contempt for the process and spit his skoal into a vat.....killing himself...injuring a few other officers and pretty much anhillating most of the evidence in a freaking fireball)

I am not sure how good of an idea it is to list the ingredients for meth production on an open public forum. I know a few idiots that I wouldn't trust with a Nerf ball, let alone a list of highly toxic/explosive chemicals. Especially without giving mix ratios and precautionary measures that the pro's use. We all know damned well that some moron will just try to wing it and probably end up blowing the s#%t out of his mom's basement or storage shed.

Like I said....just a thought.

Isn't that already available on the net? Seems if there are sites to show how to build a bomb this sort of thing may be there also...

Besides... the smell of Cat-Pi** gets all in your clothes...

Those sites are monitored by the 14 (known) C.A.R.N.I.V.O.R.E. supercomputer stations that the U.S govt implemented after 9/11 to red flag and track keywords pertaining to certain sites.....weather or not that has changed since, I donno. I would like to hope that they just keep bird dogging the moslems instead of monitoring Mingle.

Like I said...I am not sure. I do know for a fact that, (at least in Texas)...alot of the chemical composition, and safety protocal tables that one has to study for a chemical plant operators licence must be requisitioned directly from state or federal agencies. Pretty amazing what you gotta go through to do bottled water........

My nephew went in to a walgreens next door to where he and others were making some,,,HE showed his id,,,bought two botbles, then came back two hours later and bought the same....They were making it next-door,,,,lol
There are like five different places away from there he could have bought it at,,,and I told my sister,,,,HE NEEDS A SIGN,,

...i wonder ..if a meth addict farted and you lit it..would they blow up... ..of course i'm not curious enuf to follow a meth addict around with a Bic lighter at the ready..but for anyone who wishes to do so....post the results...
