Topic: ARE WIT AND INTELLIGENCE RELATED? | |
---|---|
I think there can be some degree of overlap, but they are not the same
thing at all. Sometimes intelligent people have the mental acuity to hone their wit. Sometimes intelligent people never develop any wit at all. It may be just a matter of focusing on a particular area or skill. Would I be better off to work on my wit or learn about the stock market? So there's an issue of priorities. I have been in situations where wit was much more helpful within the context of a conversation than intelligence would have been. And vice versa. |

Lex, stay outta the thesaurus. Is that wit?

I'm a retired teacher on a fixed income, and I bought a 10,000 BTU
portable A/C for my garage so that the guinea pigs won't get too hot this summer. Now, isn't that witty? |

Sushi, I don't even have a thesaurus, I was just playing with Scrabble
letters. Z is worth 10! |

30 on a triple word, Lex. You play Scrabble by yourself. Now that
funny, not witty. LOL |

I usually win that way. Unless I get stuck with that stupid z.
