If one has intelligence combined with practiced wittiness... they can be
a riot...lol... I love those friends of mine who have that...

However...if that same combination is also combined with sarcasm and
hardheartedness or bitterness...well that can be a whole different ball
of wax...Very, very nasty indeed...

Wit and Intelligence combined in A+ personalities only and those who are
having these two traits are definately considered difference maker not
everyone is witty nor everyone is intelligent also. Let's go back to
your question yes WIT is linked to INTELLIGENCE
GOOD QUESTION OF THE DAY!

Intelligence -to me is what knowledge one retains. From either life what
they have read or have seen. And how far they research in order to gain
that knowledge. Some as far as intelligence may pretain to a certain
field or life itself.

wit- or quick witted person is one that enjoys a good banter with
another and can come back in an instant with an answer. Is it part of
intelligence could be. But have seen some real smart people that could
not banter and have fun with it.

But in no way is being quick witted a form of being insulting to another
most of the time it is all done in fun between people it is more of a
rush on the brain.


Hell I love it when I find someone that I can banter back and forth with
all in fun.

yes right normally an intelligent man/woman get back with you quickly
with thier nntural form of wit and humor, it is a flooting situation in
them they cannot fake this for sure

witty is the ability to have a quick and often somewhat humorous answer
for a question or remark posed yes yes wit equals knowledge ,,the power
to know or perceive

So ...then... I ask of those who believe that wit and intelligence go
hand in hand...why do you believe this?

I have been around people in my life who have less than intelligent
conversations on a regular basis, some of which simply do not have the
cognitive skill required to effectively have an in depth
conversation...yet amongst themselves they can be quite
witty...lol...with each other and on their own level...however, one of
those same people probably would be "lost" in an in depth and
intelligent conversation...thereby greatly reducing their ability to be
witty...IN THAT SETTING...no matter how witty they have already proven
to be in a less intelligent one...

Therefore wittiness does not REQUIRE intelligence...I assure you.

No it does not require to be hand in hand and alot of the times it will
not be but.. the ones that have intelligence and also quick witted have
the advantange of coming back with more answers than those with not as
much knowledge. But yes you can have one without the other
