I have a car and a motorcycle. But, I wish I didn't have to. I'd really prefer to use public transportation. |

If you live in NYC, LA or another huge city, it might not be a huge issue. I wouldn't be offended if somebody asks me if I have a car though. It's sorta needed where I'm at (and makes dating a heck of alot more needed). I've had cars and bikes constantly my whole life, but I lost my license for quite a long time before due to stupidity (so vehicles were useless after I learned to stop driving them). I ended up losing out on some potentially great dates because of it too. Kinda hard meeting people without a car (in many situations). But, not all is lost. That's the main reason on how I ended up finding this site.

You can get arrested for that around here. One time I had an elderly neighbor who got pulled over for taking his wheelchair across a nearby bridge on a major highway!

Yes, I can see not needing a car if you only date/spend time with people who live in the city. I think you need a car to impress the girl 
 but I dont like girls

I have a car and no you can't go for a ride. ***, Gas, or Grass. Nobody rides for free.

I was reading a post in another thread where someone was talking about this question being asked on another site. If someone asked you this question, would it offend you? Do you think having a car is important when trying to date? If you don't have a car, do you make an effort to meet your date somewhere, rather than having them pick you up all the time? I have lived in NY city and still owned a car. So No it wouldn't offend me if someone asked me that. I think there are way more important things to be offended about.. Do I think having a car important to dating kind of yeah..Where I live on the island not so much... Everything is in walking distance so no biggie. |

Yes. I am forty and I have a job, school and family. I need a car and my partner needs to have a car so that I dont have to stretch the use of my car even further. Yeah, somethings I need to have met halfway because I have the responsibility of my kids to think about and what example I want in their life. At 40, my partner needs to have a place to stay and transportation and a job.
