If I forgive, it does not mean I absolve that person of the natural consequences (or lesson) of their action. To forget would exclude me from learning any lesson as well. Life is about lessons(for me). I can forgive , that is to say, I can hold no ill will towards someone personally, but I can still expect them to account for what they have done.

MsHarmony...so do that mean that when you committ sin and ask God for forgiveness that you still insist that you account for those sins and be sent to Hell

Yes, I still have to account here on earth for my actions, even with Gods forgiveness. Gods forgiveness saves my SPIRIT not my mortal body. My flesh must atone, choice for choice, for the things I do.

MsHarmony....I'm not referring to your mortal body or crimes against society ....I'm referring to your crimes against God by sinning....and even if God forgives you, shouldn't you still be held accountable for those sins by going to Hell

It will be up to God what I should do, his word says that asking for forgiveness and repenting will save me from the consequence of sin on my soul.

asking for forgiveness of God consist of you claiming you won't do it again. If a person asks of your forgiveness you have no way of knowing if it is sincere. And if you ask God for forgiveness and turn around and do it again, when you asked for it in the first place was in vein. And if it was in vein it makes it null.

Cowboy..so anyone that has the need to ask God for forgivness a second time should go to Hell?

all but one sin is equal funches. ALL sins are, you commit murder, you lie...... it's all the same. And forgivable, the only sin that is worse then others and unforgivable is denying the lord. And all sin leads to one thing, death. So yes any sin committed is in need of asking forgiveness of.

Cowboy....I'm not talking about the equality of sin...I said that if you ask God for forgiveness once and then committ sin again do you then go to Hell

Gods ability to forgive, like His ability to love, are not equal to mans ability but much greater. My forgiveness of others will not match Gods because I did not create man, I am equal to man.

No for a couple reasons. If that were true then EVERYONE that has walked this earth except Jesus would go to hell. It is already said that everyone falls short in the site of God. That and God is forgiving, that would not be justified forgiveness if God sent us to hell for every sin we ever commit.

MsHarmony...it was up to you not to sin...but yet you did...so shouldn't you be expected to pay for those sins in Hell

no because there is no limit to how many times you can ask for forgiveness. But he is only forgiving those that true heartedly ask for it. It can't just be an incensere "Father forgive me please" kinda thing. We have to truely be seeking forgiveness, but with forgiveness comes repentance. We need to repent from the foul thing we did to recieve that forgiveness.

MsHarmony...forgivness has no levels or greatness....you either forgive or you don't

if you insist that people that commit crimes pay for their crimes and go to jail even if they are forgiven then the same should apply to those that committ crimes against God, that they should go to Hell even if they are forgiven

lol you can not have repenting and keep sinning. Repenting from a sin means not doing it again.

To forgive is the essence of not-holding them in thoughts as to their blame.

"iam4u"...it that was true...then there is no need to forgive
Then in YOUR minds way of thinking, YOU don't belive that GOD can forgive YOU or ANYONE, of a SIN they have commited?

Ask on to me and repent your sins, and you will be forgiven!

Does NOT GOD him-self use the term,,,,,FORGIVEN HERE?

So if you wish to THINK in your manner of thoughts, take heed that in-which you choose to TAKE-AWAY from use and meaning, of a word.

IF,,,,GOD shows us in example to forgive, do we not pratice his teachings??

I have no problem with God forgiving ...but the discusson was... even if he does forgive...shouldn't you still pay for the crimes against him by roasting in Hell

again there is no limit on how many times we can be forgiven. God knows what's in our hearts and if we did that sinful action intetionally or not. God knows we will fail from time to time, our lives are to mold us and make us great in God's eyes. So with God knowing we're trying hard not to do that sin and are seriousely working on getting strong then of course he will forgive us. It's those that sin with the mind set "ah it's ok God will forgive me" is where it's not forgiven all because the asking of forgiveness is in vein.

God does not want us to go to hell. Hell was not made for man. Your statement is full of contradictions. How would we go to hell for something if it was forgiven? Hell is the consequence of a sinful action a punishment for it. But if you are forgiven there is no need for a punishment.

which is why there is no point in repenting...but forgiveness from God doesn't mean one will stay out of Hell
