I've heard it said that people are so willing to take the splinter out
of your eye when they have a 2by4 hanging out of their own eye!!

Humm could it be because some of us sit back and watch and listen what
goes on in life. We watch what happens with other people and the
situations that they go though. We can actually see the solutions and
actions that need or should be taken. Some think we take it straight
from books but instead it is from life it's self. Sometimes the advice
we give to others are about realitiy and real life we hit home so to
speak when talking to others. We have the abliltiy to see things they
don't because we are not involved with there situation and can see
things more clearly then they can at the time. Could that be why some
come to others for advice at times. I know I have had several even from
this site that will ask me questions. Yes I do try to help as much as I
can but I also let them know my way does not always work either. But I'm
honest with them I don't sugar coat it when they ask an honest question.
I take it from my life and what I have seen in life myself.

But now when it pretains to our own lives. Well it is because now we
are emotionally involved. And we are human we don't always see the clear
picture as those looking in does. It seems we don't take our own advice
when we are in the same situation why cause we are human and have let
our emotions take over instead of our brain. But then we look back and
we are our own worst critic after it is all over. At least I'm to
myself. Thinking why did I do that I know better but at the time you
want to give your all also.Sometimes things are just not made to work
out.

Just because you can see the road, that doesn't mean you are walking on
it. It's easier to give advice than to take it.

Because some people would rather look at everyone but themselves, it's
easier that way. It's easy to look at someone else and judge them, and
tell them what to do, to look at your own life and take responsibility
for it is a little more painful. Looking at yourself objectively isn't
easy, but it can be done. People want someone else to tell them what to
do, then when it doesn't work out they don't have to blame themselves.

I personally don't give or ask for advice. I might ask someone's opinion
if I value their experience, or share my own experience with someone,
but what works for one might not work for another. Each person should
look inside themselves and make their own decisions about what's right
for them.

2. because we often are unaware of our own filters and limiting belief
systems so we may fail to see ourselves clearly.
