is there a way to block a person from contacting you BEFORE they write you, or do you have to wait until some sort of email has been received?

I'm not 100% sure however, I did not see a "block profile" tab when I viewed someone's profile who had previously viewed me but never sent a message. I know for sure you can block them after they send a message.
