I couldn't do it.
I'm not saying it couldn't be done. It just takes the right two people that are on the same page. |

I am an optimist...by nature...and if I really want it, I go for it. I say life is too darn short to wonder, "What might've been".

Some of you travel all the time, my lifestyle doesn't allow that... So what do you do if you are interested in someone but they live too far away... then you think, why can't you find that someone special closer to home. hmmm... **ponders Then if you ever meet, will it be everything you had hoped it to be? **ponders more It's easy ... don't ponder Well true, sex is optional, true relationships are based off of friendship and mutual respect... but eventually and inevitably intimacy will be craved, and then what? |

Well, LDR have one problem and that is trust. While I want to trust someone unconditionally, there are other issues that really would bother me... Did I put all of my efforts into it to have nothing in return... But I think this, I am a fantasy at this point and it is a great one at that, if we meet up then it would be the test of time... I have my fantasy, I am a dreamer... and I am smitten, already.

I was in New Mexico after moving from Maryland for my ex, my gf is in Georgia. I met her and decided that I really wanted this to work, so I moved again. There are no promises in life, but if you don't take chances, you're not living. And I agree....Pats is friggin awesome!!!

Peccy...I knew we were NM "neighbors" but didn't know you'd come here from MD! I did too! Beltsville! Crazy...

I've tried it several times, and let me tell you, it's not one of the easiest things in the world. First, you have to be in the right mind set, second you have to be really patient and not expect everything to happen as fast as you may want it to go. And lastly, communication is key in a long distance relationship. It can be a text message, an email, phone call, video messages. However you do it, it matters in the end. Good luck to first timers and those who are continuing it.

funny that you mentioned this. i happen to love somebody who's far, met and all. most people would tell me it'll never gonna work out, and sometimes i wake up thinking i'm falling in love all over again. and by the end of the day, it dies down and leaves me nothing but an empty void. i wonder if i can hold on to that ray of hope for every day that i love that person. or is that even possible? hmm.

I am in Ohio & almost all of the women I find intriguing are elsewhere. North Carolina, Missouri, you name it. I've asked essentially the same question previously myself. It seems to be the mystery of the online experience. There was even 1 woman here in Ohio, but 2.5 hours away. Not very conducive for budding romances. tf73 amen i can't find anyone local that peeks my interest. i need to move away from the midwest. . . . |

Met my lady on here back in January then we got to meet in person in July, she moved here with me in the middle of October. It can't get any better than that....
Oh, by the way she was in Vegas, and I live in Virginia, there was over 2,500 miles between us. We spent hours on the phone everyday, tons of emails.....long story short LDR's can work just takes the right 2 people. Good luck!! |
