Yes, there is discussion to start taxing 'fast food'.

I have read 'Fast Food Nation' and the other book about the guy who ate nothing but McDonald's for 30 days. It's an industry to make money. Just like any other.

And you can't make claims without a unbiased neutral in a study, that guy who ate nothing McDonalds for 30 days did a biased study. Everyone and anyone can get unhealty eating fast food for 30 days straight, I still find that story to be one of the more ridiculous stories I've heard in my life...why go to such lengths to prove something that is already proven?

Just because it is available does not mean it shouldn't be enjoyed responsibly and within a limited time period, the problem is that this generation is lazy and somewhat stupid...so now we just screw ourselves up and blame it on someone else...lovely, I'm sure Darwin is rolling in his grave now...

I mentioned the two books because they have a very,very interesting insights into the fast food phenomena. No I do not think fast food should be outlawed, nor do I think its poison. I think the comparison of MJ, steroids and fast food is an unfair comparison.

Interesting insights, yes...but an absolute awful execution of the study. A better way would have been to analyze the ingredients and amount of fat, trans. fat, saturated fat, so on and so forth...and then put them into a model and processed it by way of computer, although it would have all been wasted anyway as most people know it is unhealthy.

True it's it up the individual eating that stuff. People go there so they will stay in business. Bought my daughter McDonald's last month after not having it for a long time. Too late to cook and all that, well she ended up in the bathroom with a hurt tummy and sitting on the toilet a few times. If you rid your body of it, then eat it, it gives you a sick feeling. It might not all, but it did us and it was enough to say, ugh no more. In saying that, I won't tell people not to go there, but I just try to make them aware of it. I am a vegetarian...just for the last 4 years. I am soooo glad that part of the lifestyle change was not eating this fast food anymore. I am healthier than I was at 30, I look and feel better now than ever. My weight controls itself... I don't drink soda anymore either..we really are what we eat.

They fry everything including candybars.

I don't know that a hamburger is going to be worse in some cases.

How much will eating out change when Mc Donalds starts buyin their beef from south america? They say that the U.S. cannot keep up w/ their demands so the are buyin food from S.Amer. cause its cheaper... its also unregulated,not tested for parasites..and a few other things. YUK..eccoli burger anyone?

i just quit fast food cold turkey. so far... i've only thought of it twice. but i'm sure as time passes its gonna get worse before it gets better and i completely forget about it. :p
