You have said that women have told you that you are a good listener and I have absolutely no reason to doubt that this is the case. So I commend you for being a rarity.I tend to think that most men listen but sometimes fail to actually hear the subtlties and nuances that are being both verbally and physically offered in spoken communication. Thank you. I really can't take much credit for it, though. I think it turned out that way because I studied psychology for a very long time, and being a good listener is a tremendous help in that particular area! I never really set out to be a good listener, per se -- I just happened to develop the ability as part of a larger endeavor. |

Most people like to listen to themselves talking so I guess everybody can talk and listen as long as its their own voice they hear.

I think that whilst your attitude wants to enter into humour I feel that as a man I should say that evrybody tells lies, everybody gets hungry and most get horny, and everybody tries to avoid certain situations through not hearing. What you are describing is little more than generalised deceit. Most men would probably tend away from confrontation by becoming quieter, men probably find that more therapeutic whilst women tend towards an emotional release as more therapeutic. When a relationship is reduced to the level of lies and deceit both men and women have ceased to listen. Lex,earlier, stated that he was a good listener and that is probably the case, And I avered that was a rarity, but very few men can honestly say that, as the environmental training is not geared towards the constructive development of listening skills in men. Perhaps this is reflected in the gladatorial training from K through grade 12 in sports. |

u were right on when what i said was meant to be taken with humor in mind. 
i was married, and i had a ton of bf's. i do know something about men, and while u get through to them through their stomach, most of the time when they r talking, they r not listening. now if you want to make a civil case out of that go for it. and gladiator training does not cause this, it is an inherent quality that is found only in the beast.
