 Is love a need or a desire?
Well it might be a desire but if I ever get where I don't have that desire you might as well pull the plug on my needs because there is nothing left of me but a shell.

I think it is both. We dont need it to live but to survive emotionally we do. We could be animals without any love, just surviving off fo an instinct to survive.
As to what type of love, that is a different question. We want to be special to someone as an adult but what we need from infancy is a feeling that we matter. |

I think that basic human love is a need..we all need to feel and be loved and accepted....intimate physical love is a desire.

It is a need AND a Desire.. but also neither. I think I'll quote the "Encyclopedia Galactica" from "The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy." When it says that love is too complicated to define. The Hitchhiker's Guide itself has a different entry on the subject of love, "Avoid if possible". Perhaps they both views have merit. |
