I'm from the hood darling.raising my son on my own.Makes me feel good.Neighborhood i was raised in 10% take care of their children.Excuse me.But yea im glad i made it
oh... I'm not saying there's anything wrong with growing up in the hood. I'm not ashamed of where I grew up. I come from some rough streets and I'm proud of how I turned out.
My point was for those that didn't really grow up like that, brag that they did. If I was gonna lie, I'd say I grew up rich or something good laugh

when i was in high school i brought a friend of mine over to my house, and she looked around and ask if i was rich,, that was because she was way under the poverty level her parents lived in a one bedroom shack.. no my parents were not rich, they just worked for what they got

Why people would try to brag about being from a ghetto ohwell I mean I know people sometimes try to be things they really aren't... but isn't it usually something better at least?
If I was gonna lie and brag about where I'm from, I sure wouldn't be picking a hood laugh maybe it's just meohwell
I spent the first 14 years of my life in the "hood" and thats nothing to brag about. Most of the people I know who so-called "made it from the hood" never brag about it. What is there to brag about? The hood is what you as the community make it. Therefor, it just makes more misery and spreads like cancer.

Well I grew up on some mean streets in Brooklyn NY

I watched my dad bust his *** to make better for his kids

It formed me to be the woman I am today

I'm not ashamed at all about it. I just don't advertise it

And it's true. People make their own neighborhoods!!

I think it takes a much stronger person to learn from where they grew up, put the bad in the past, and try and fix what you can in your life and try to help others learn to help themselves.

Because it doesn't take much to pretend to be no account but it is a lot harder to pretend you are something. Most people think being middle class is boring and just trying to create interest. I agree pretending to be poor is pretty lame.

Not everyone finds living in "the ghetto" or "the 'hood" to be embarrassing or worthy of stigma. I know many people who continue to live there out of choice, not because of their economic status, mainly because that's their comfort zone. Not everyone wants to live in the suburbs, nor should they.smokin

I dont get people who would BRAG about it, theres nothing to brag about. But Personally, growing up in the ghetto I feel blessed to have had that experience, so I discuss it openly.
