Led Zeppelin were the beginning and end of hard rock as far as I'm concerned. Every other hard rock band that has come along since have been superfluous. They are all derivative of Zep.

Zep also did the excesses to the max as well. IMO, no band can possibly be as representive of a genre as Zep are of hard rock.

I have no one favorite Zeppelin tune although I've been listening to Trampled Underfoot quite a bit lately.

Over-the-top kinda' says it. They manage to be completely over-the-top without appearing completely ridiculous ala Spinal Tap.

You well know that I worship at the house of Led Zeppelin, and was quite shocked not to have grown up and been the next Robert Plant!?

... Not enough Miracle Gro, the wrong lighting ... ??? ...

LZ was as formative to me as the entire 60's music cataloque and my beloved 'The Beatles'.

They have that well polished 'It' factor that legends of lore wax lyrical of. They studied their blues well, had that classic training our English rockers are famous for ... and that mega-sprinkle of quantum fairy dust that brought these predestined 4 together! The ingredients proved to be the TNT of Rock! The brilliance they infused into the music of their time is beyound legendary!

They are, at once, both the foundation and wizardo-like helmsman of all that is pure, classic Rock 'n' Roll since their inception. There is no such band that measures up to, compares, or has been the trunk that other branches were founded upon since their roots first appeared. They never held a thing back ... and were full~on, full throttle thumpin' up into our face, ears, heart and the very spirit of our collective souls!

Their music has inspired and led generations for these very reasons. I've no doubt that their legend and influence will only continue to grow with time. They are the pinnacle of timeless Rock classics, and their music only gets better as decades pass, endeared unto generation after generation.

The boys had soul, plain and simple! Led Zeppelin injects the super into the superlative that they will ever remain spotlighted in the annals of Rock 'n' Roll majik ... ...

My personal favourite album is 'Led Zeppelin 2' ... as told by headphones! My favourite song is 'Ramble On', the song currently haunting me is 'The Rain Song' ... AND ... ya oughtta see my boogie~down dance to 'Black Dog'!
