No water- the black line you see on the 45 degree piece, is a crack.
Its 1" pvc. plumber is out of the question, now, how do I do this?
I have a bow saw and I think one for cutting sheetrock .
Thank you Mr. Fixits~

hack saw or they make cutters. Buy parts at hardware, cut it make sure it's dry and prime it then glue it. I would keep it from banging on that other pipe, Thats what caused it to break water hammer and that pipe.

Thanks Mark~But I have to make due with the tools I have,(serious fundage i$$ue$) except for new pvc pieces & glue.
I need a step by step process.
Since Im cutting at the edge of the corner piece, HOW do I extend it, so the PVC is covered? There is no PVC to play with, its tight.
A~

And theres nothing I can do about it touching that pipe, the pump is sitting attached to the old tank, and thats the way it is, I think it also cracked because the New tank isnt level, was just leaning on a brick under it-and it had pressure pulling the pipe down.
Arrrggg, winters coming!!!
Things come in 3s, I dont wanna know whats next sad

Your going to have to cut the elbow out, they have fittings to hook straight pieces together. Prime them with the purple don't try to cheap out it will leak.

Looks like you have room enough to straighten the outside pipe and get that lined up better with the repair. Like Mark said, don't cheap out on the glue. Get pipe dope or some such plumbing adhesive. If you don't level things off and line up the pipes, you'll be doing this repair again in a month or two.

I don't think either saw you have is going to work. The teeth are too agressive. You need a small saw with with fine teeth. They make small saws that look like a hack saw for hobby work or just buy a damn hack saw blade cheap and wrap a handle on it with duct tape.

I would also recommend that instead of replacing the 90* degree "L" that you use 2 ea. 45* degree instead. That way it should clear the other pipe.

It also appears to me that the pipe is actually 3/4" PVC. You may want to take the piece with you when you go get parts as you don't want to make 2 trips.

Parts:

2 ea. 45* degree fittings
1 foot Schedule 40 PVC

1. Cut the pipe a couple inches back from the failed fitting on each side with the saw.

2. Sand the ends of the pipe and remove any burrs.

3. Dry fit your new 45* fittings and cut a small piece of pipe to make the connection.

4. If you use the proper PVC glue (blue), you will not need to prime the pipe.

5. Once everything fits dry (no glue) then proceed to glue it up.

6. Swab PVC cement on the inside of the fitting and also on the pipe. Just do one fitting at a time, one glue joint at a time.

7. Twist the fittings together tightly and hold for a couple minutes.

8. Don't get the cement on your hands as that shiiit is hard to get off.

9. finish all the pieces then wait several hours before you turn the water back on. Should have time info on the cement can.

Good Luck! drinker

Well, I took that saw ( I call it a bow saw , dont know what the real name is, shaped like a full bow, has a handle to hold) and cut a piece of 1/2 inch I had laying around. Not just like butta, but close enough for me!!

Im still a little vauge (sp) on how to extend the straight pipe, but Im pretty sure they will fill me in at my hardware store. We actually have some men who know hardware, vs guy who just needed a job.

Thank you Fixit men!!!!!!!!!,so, I will get that dark blue/purple glue, its all Ive ever seen used anyway.

Primer?? never heard of pipe primer. Hmmm, is it called PVC Primer??
Deluxe- The printing on the PVC says 1", thats what Im going by.

Im pretty much set for tomorrow then. I needed all those extra things like sanding, etc. Stuff I didnt know.

YALL ARE MY HEROES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!blushing For real!!!!!
Thank you guys SO much!!!
