Topic: Needle on E | |

I just learned how far my car will go when the needle is on E.
Was gonna stop last night and fill up but decided I have enough gas to make it in the morning. Well about a quarter mile from home my car decided it needed gas. I'm never letting it get below a quarter tank again! |

On the bright side ... now you know how far that is True. I've done this with every car I've had only withthe others I made to the gas station. good thing the gas station was only 4 blocks away. |

If you have a waranty on it you could void the waranty if something goes wrong. |

This makes me think of something I read today that Sid the Scam alert guy in the AARP magazine reports from Master gemologist Donald Palmieri that "at gold selling parties, pawnshops, and mail-in businesses you'll usually get just 10 to 20% of the true value. Guess I will rethink giving up my jewlery to buy gas. Seems like too many ways to get ripped off.
Running out of gas is really not that great for your car because it can foul your fuel lines with the junk that settles at the bottom of your tank. Also grinding the starter or other things people do when they are frusterated is hard on your car. Really expensive if your "fuel starved" car causes and accident or you get a ticket. Or while you are walking for gas someone is watching dumps in a little gas and drives off your car. The absolute best reason not to is if you are pushing a car you are very likely to get runover or run into which frequently causes amputations or paralysis. Live & learn. Be a lesson you pretty much lucked out on. Thankfully. P.S. Keeping your tires inflated right can really help save on gas. |

Pull out the oil dipstick and see how the oil looks. If it's really black and thick, you're gonna need to get the oil changed. If it doesn't seem to thick, you should be good to go for just a bit yet. |
