for me it only takes a few seconds to decide if I want to meet a woman in person that I just met online - how long does it take you? basically if she has the "look" I'm game to meet up for the chance to get to know her, and see if we click - don't get me wrong the inside is more important to me than the outside, but there has to be that initial physical attraction even if ever so slight...it seems the ladies like to chat it up over a period of days before finally agreeing to meet in person - what factors do you consider in deciding to meet someone in person?

Never. I have no desire to ever meet a man from online again, and before you ask, yes I know this is a dating site, but I'm only here for friends, so I never want to meet them.

That depends on many things. The chemistry, the distance, the situation with work and family (many cant just pick up and leave when they choose). I think if someone is in the area and both people are single it should be no issue to set a date if there is chemistry straight off. If there is distance involved though, it is just as well to communicate for a while to MAKE sure it will be worth the effort and planning to take a trip away from your life to meet the person. Once I am officially single, I could easily have a night out within the week I meet and like someone. However, I would have to be very secure there were no games or lies before doing the same to go on a long distance journey for someone.

Id say it depends upon how well you get along and how just both of you feel if it's nearly one sided or if both .
Saying that I've had couple straight out ask me in first message however I'm in no rush . You can always ask her in around about way to see in how she responds then you'll know , If what is returned as maybe or no take your time lean back for while let things flow some more. If it's to be you'll obviously be together forever more right . Just a thought my friend to keep in mind think ahead and fill your heart with patience . If you go to fast you may scare her away by being to quick . Show patience towards her she will feel more relaxed and comftorble about whole thing . As always your choice I wish you both all best ;-) |

For me its all about buiding a friendship and trust and not rushing into a meeting we may both regret. ANNA X

There's no set time limit on when to meet. However, there has to be more than a good picture in order for me to want to meet someone. I need to see that there's something else there.

Decideing to meet someone local publiclly takes several exchanges written and probably by phone over a period of time which would not include revealing where I live but exchangeing current pictures if not a cam conversation. Any red flag would be enough to blow it out of the water because I have learned to trust my instincts and and at least ask the basic questions. If when I meet them and I have a good vibe then I make the effort to verify what I have been told and start expanding the contact. Since I don't see entertaining at home something that is necessary in casual dateing I avoid that.

I want to meet the person ASAP. You simply can't tell if there is a connection through email. It's too easy to lie. Also. so much of what we say isn't with words. It's tone and body language. Until you actually meet someone you can't know anything about them.
However, I understand that women often want to wait. So, I am willing to work with her time table. |

Sooner is better than later.
Sometimes expectations build up, and can't be met. If its good, start dating, if not, no need in dragging in on. |

Years.... for me.. I don't trust people that easily. I have to get to know them and feel them when they are writing or emailing me. I am not in a hurry either... just have take my time.. i don't want to repeat the mistake I have in the past... But, good luck to you! |

I agree with you. For me, I want to cut to the chase quickly. It's just too easy to play games when you have a computer to hide behind. I also think it seems like women are less likely to want to meet right away. Then others rely on past expiriences and go to one extreem or the other. It's tough to put an exact time as a benchmark for everyone.
